Q. What is Internet Explorer? Explain features of Internet Explorer.

Internet explorer: Microsoft Internet Explorer is a computer program called a


web browser that helps you interact with and navigate through information resources
on the Internet. We can use Internet Explorer to read publications and view pictures
stored on a computer across the world. Internet Explorer enables you to access web
sites and interpret the html code. Internet Explorer (IE) is a product from software giant
Microsoft. This is the most commonly used browser in the universe.

Internet Explorer 11 is a web browser from Microsoft. It is the default browser


on all windows computers.

To open Internet Explorer, from the desktop, locate and select the Internet
Explorer icon on the taskbar . If we are using Windows 7, we can also access it
from the start menu. Internet Explorer 11 offers many of the features is shown below.

Features of the Internet Explorer 11:

1. Faster Web Browsing: It allows network requests to content, connecting users to


information faster than ever before. Internet Explorer 11 can provide faster and more
efficient browsing, even over slow networks.

2.Rich, hyper-fast 2D and 3D experience: It supports the web graphics library standards,
lightning up games and other interactive content and while still maintaining security,
reliability and performance.

3.Great for all large and small screens: Internet Explorer 11 is also great for large
screens and multi-monitor support.

4.Improved compatibility: Internet Explorer 11 improves compatibility with web


standards, other browsers and real-world websites.

5.Pinned sites: It enhances pinned sites to support live tiles, letting our content update
dynamically and creating more personalized start screen.

Q. Explain Internet Explorer buttons?

Microsoft Internet Explorer is a computer program called a browser that helps you
interact with and navigate through information resources on the Internet. We can use
Internet Explorer to read publications and view pictures stored on a computer across
the world.

Forward: The Forward button moves you forward a page. It only works if you have
previously used the back button. The back and forward buttons are called navigation
buttons that allows you to move between sites we have recently visited.

Stop: The stop button no longer exists in the majority of modern web browsers.

Refresh: This feature is useful to reload the same site again.

Home: This button is used to return users to their default web page and same page
loads when the browser is first opened.

Search: This button is used to search for URL text field.

Full Screen: This function is used to make the browser window a full screen.

History: This feature allows users to view the pages that have been visited since the
browser history was last created.

Favorites: This folder stores websites or pages chosen by the user.

Zoom: This button increasing or decreasing the size of images and fonts by pressing ctrl
key and pressing either + or -.

Compatibility Mode button:Click this button and Internet Explorer will try to recover
from these errors and display the web page correctly.

Tabs: This tab opening number of web sites at a time in one Internet Explorer.

Tools: This button is used to assign number of accessess into our web sites.

Q. Entering Web Site Address:

1. Type a website address and also known as URL address bar then press enter .

Q. Searching the Internet by using Internet Explorer:

To make browsing simpler, Internet Explorer recommends websites you might like


based on the sites you visit most.

Get browsing suggestions in the address bar

When you start typing in the address bar, Internet Explorer automatically


recommends websites, search terms, apps, or weather and finance suggestions. These
suggestions are based on your browsing history, keystrokes, and favorites so the
browser can show you results that might be more relevant to you.

If you enter text in the address bar in Internet Explorer and it doesn't resolve as a
valid web address, or the text begins with a question mark, "search," "find," or "go,"
Internet Explorer will redirect you to your default search provider to help you locate the
site you're looking for.

Q. What is Social Networking? Explain different types of Social Networking.

Social Networking: Social networking is the use of internet-based social


media programs to make connections with friends, family, classmates, customers and
clients. Social networking can occur for social purposes, business purposes or both
through sites such as Face book, Twitter, LinkedIn, Classmates.com and Yelp. Social
networking is also a significant target area for marketers seeking to engage users.

1.Facebook: Facebook is a popular free Social Networking website that allows
registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in
touch with friends, family and colleagues. The site, which is available in 37 different
languages. It includes public features such as:

Facebook is free to join and free to use.

It can be used by anyone wherever they are in the world as long as they have internet
access.

Facebook users can share messages, video links, photographs and websites.

In the facebook we can search by name or e-mail to find people.

Facebook is available 24 hours a day, so people can communicate without a time zone
problem.

2.LinkedIn: LinkedIn is used for keeping track of and growing a professional


social network, finding and applying for jobs, posting and viewing online resumes, giving
and receiving recommendations, learning more about companies, tracking industry
news and moves, and more.

Advantages:

Professional Connections : One of the main advantages of using LinkedIn is getting


connected with Professionals who are in the similar industry.

Opinions :  LinkedIn is the opinion which comes from various professionals. Yes they are
not only opinions but they are experienced opinions which helps you to take corrective
decisions for your career .

Discussions : With LinkedIn you do discussion to the point and you get answers for what
actually you might be searching for.

Job Seeking : Every day you will find job postings where companies are hiring people
may be in your category. This way you get detailed information about the companies
working and it also allows you to get right job for yourself.

Old Connections : Getting connected with your old college friends or old customers is
another advantage, you always get news about their whereabouts.
Increase Social Networking : Using LinkedIn helps you increasing your social networking
with various people across the globe. You can start your own company page where
other news or announcement can be posted.

3.Twitter:

• Twitter is a social network and real-time communication.


• service launched in 2006 and used by millions of people and organizations to
quickly share and discover information.
• Twitter is easy to join and use.
• Every tweet goes to our followers.
• Twitter security.
• User can access the site via web and mobile devices to exchange frequent bite-
size updates of information called tweets .

4.Skype:

• Skype is a computer program that can be used to make free voice calls over the
internet to anyone else who is also using Skype.

• Skype offers free communication.

• You can communicate with the words.

• In addition to video and voice calls, we can also hold teleconferences, instant
message, share files of all kinds of text and make low-cost international calls.

• Skype offers screen sharing.

• It allows a group call without the need for group features.

• Google+ act as a social layer for Google, the world’s largest search engine
company, and is integrated into every product and service, such as search,
android, YouTube, chrome, local and drive.

• It provides business deals face to face.

• It provides easy searching for any information.

• It provides job opportunity for sharing and uploading resumes and any data for
particular sites.

• It provides latest Google news in the mean of Google sparks.

6.Youtube:

• Launched in may 2005, Youtube allows billions of people to discover, watch and
share originally created videos.

• Fast and easy video sharing.

• Quick access to various videos.

• Safe browsing.

• Easy rating and feedback system.

• Privacy features.

7.Whatsapp:

• Whatsapp is a chatting software developed for smart phones.


• In this no need to manually add any contact because this app automatically
imports the contacts from our sim card phone.
• It is an instant messaging service for phone.
• Save money on SMS/MMS because it send to any part of the world Without any
charges.
• Easy to create groups and charts.
• We can share our location, photos, status, with our friends.
• All tools provided by whatsapp are very easy to use.

8.Flickr
Flickr is the mobile app. Photos and videos can be accessed from Flickr without
the need to register an account but an account must be made in order to upload
photos and videos that the user has uploaded and also grants the ability to add
another Flickr user as a contact.

9.Yelp
Yelp is the mobile app, which publish reviews about local businesses, as well as
the online reservation service Yelp Reservations and online food-delivery service.
The company also trains small businesses in how to respond to reviews, hosts
social events for reviewers, and provides data about businesses, including health
inspection scores.

10.Vimeo
Vimeo is a video-sharing website in which users can upload, share and view
videos. It was the first video sharing site to support high-definition video .
