1. Suddenly Uncle Henry stood ____.

"There's a cyclone coming, Em," he called _________ his wife. "I'll go look after the stock."
Then he ran toward the sheds where the cows and horses were kept.

Aunt Em dropped her work and came __________the door. One glance told her of the
danger close _________ hand.

"Quick, Dorothy!" she screamed. "Run for the cellar!"

Toto jumped _______ of Dorothy's arms and hid under the bed, and the girl started to get
him. Aunt Em, badly frightened, threw open the trap door ____________ the floor and
climbed down the ladder ________ the small, dark hole. Dorothy caught Toto
__________ last and started to follow her aunt. When she was halfway across the room
there came a great shriek _______the wind, and the house shook so hard that she lost her
footing and sat down suddenly _______ the floor.

2. We took a morning bus ___ Arusha, and after checking _____ a very simple hotel, started
our search for a safari company. We went to Sunny Safaris, but nothing seems to be going
soon. Next, we went to Cheetah Safaris. They have a safari going ____Tuesday. It sounds

walking around town this afternoon, we met Joan and Per from Lamu. They introduced us
___ Senara who will be taking the Safari ____ us tomorrow. Later, we had dinner _____ a
less than exiting restaurant.

Our first day of safari! Uh, oh! Unfortunately, we had a late start after trying to get some
cash for Reiner and Walter. On the way ___ the park, our driver John first stopped ___ two
gas stations, and then we went to his house to pick ____ some clothes. We didn't get
____ Lake Manyara until after one o'clock. Can you believe John actually suggested stopping
____ a restaurant before going ___ the park? We all said, "No way!"
