Witchcraft 101
This new thread, handmade fresh daily, is just for new witches. So without religious
connotations, without contemplating theory any more than necessary, and without applying
morality, I am going to teach you how to do Magick.
Pretty much a crash course in magick, think Hogwarts without the almost being killed all the
time. Welcome to Witchcraft 101.
Tomes and ancient grimoires, these are the stuff that make young witches drool with lust for
power. We use a lot of books, from our books of shadows, or grimoires or journals, to books
about magick, herbs, history and symbolism.
Your first and best tool in magick is knowledge. Think about it. You probably read about Wicca,
or witchcraft, even before you picked up your first magick tool. It all started with a book.
The first thing we see here is "to Know." So, how do we know things? Without diving into
philosophy, we know by learning. We learn in three ways: reading, seeing and hearing it from
others, and direct experience.
To that end, our librarian, has provided an extensive library, covering all topics from magick
practice and theory, to religion, herbalism and divination. It's pinned at the top of the page.
Use these resources to your advantage. Read them, download them, take them with you. Put this
knowledge is your book.

So your homework for today: choose a book, begin reading it, and read a chapter every day, at
least. Write in your book of shadows at least 3 times a week. Spells, recipes, correspondences or
even Futhark Runic, or Theban. Anything, but right now you need to form two habits: read
daily, and write in your BoS regularly.
The remainder of the week, we will cover Magickal Tools. Class dismissed.
Brightest Blessings
