COC 2: CONDUCT COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

Demo flow (20 mins.)

ASSESSOR SHOULD:
 WEAR ASSESSORS ID
 MAKE SURE THAT THE FOLLOWING IS AT HAND:
o Attendance Sheet
o Candidates Application Forms
o Candidates Self Assessment Guide (SAG)
o Candidates Number Tags
o Ballpens

ASSESSMENT PACKAGE:
 Rating Sheets
 Competency Assessment Result Summary (CARS)
 Specific Instructions to the candidates
 Written Exam

STEP #1
STATE THE FOLLOWING:
 Wears the prescribed Competency Assessors’ ID
 Assessor should ensure that the assessment site complies with relevant occupational health and safety
requirements as: well-lighted and well-ventilated, risk areas properly marked
 Ensures that the assessment shall be conducted in accordance with the methodology and procedures set by the
training regulation
 Complete set of safe and functional equipment and tools
 Complete set of supplies and materials
 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

STEP #2
RETRIEVE/RECEIVE THE ASSESSMENT PACKAGE FROM THE TESDA REPRESENTATIVE
 Folder or Envelope Containing the ASSESSMENT PACKAGE

STEP #3
WELCOMING THE CANDIDATES
 Introduce Assessment Center
 Introduce Self
 Introduce TESDA REP & AC MANAGER, state their presence
 Conduct attendance, verify, identity, instruct to sign and assign candidate numbers

STEP #4
CONDUCT ORIENTATION
 Context and purpose of assessment
 Qualification/Units of Competency to be assessed
 Assessment Procedures to be undertaken
 Tasks to be performed, time limits and evidence to be collected
 Needs to be considered during assessment
 Allowable / reasonable adjustments in the assessment procedure
 The Do’s and Don’ts inside the competency assessment center
 The rights and appeal system
 Issuance and validity of national certificate/ certificate of competency
 Re-assessment procedures

STEP #5
CONDUCT ASSESSMENT PROPER
 Repeat Assessment Procedures to be undertaken
 Provide each candidate a copy of the Specific Instructions to the Candidate
 Start with written exam (state purpose and context) (if Applicable)
 Provide the candidates with all materials, tools and equipment required to complete the tasks.
 Before demo instruct candidates to wear PPE’s, give time to familiarize with the equipment, tools and materials
and state purpose and context
 Conduct demo. Observe candidates while performing their demo and record/document the proceeding in the
rating sheet
 Conduct oral questioning, should be one by one.

STEP #6
CONSOLIDATE EVIDENCES
 Arrange/prepare Rating Sheet, CARS, Written Exam (if Applicable), Specific instruction

STEP #7
FEEDBACKING
 Discuss the assessment process and outcome
 Clear and constructive feedback on the assessment decision
 Information on ways of overcoming any identified gaps in competency revealed by the assessment
 Information on reassessment process, when required
 Information that successful candidates shall claim their NC/COC at the TESDA PO upon presentation of CARS
(five (5) working days after assessment)
 Instruct candidate to sign the Rating Sheet and Cars.
 State that candidates copy of CARS will be given to them after AC Manager have signed
 Instruct candidate to go see TESDA Rep for the assessment program evaluation

STEP #8
REVIEW ASSESSMENT PACKAGE
 Check if Rating Sheet, Cars, Attendance Sheet, Written Exam and Assessment Program/Process Evaluation Forms
were all signed and duly accomplished
 Turn over to the TESDA Rep and or AC Manager the Assessment Package
