Resources:
Textbook: Georgia Studies for Georgia Students 8 (Printed book with online access and online workbook)
Online Access: Students will have access to the online textbook through Lesson resources on CTLS Learn.
Grading:
Daily: 25% Assessments/Projects: 40%
Quizzes/Mini Projects: 35%

Absence/Late Work: All assignments turned in late, other than for an excused absence, will be given half credit. If a student
is absent, he/she has one day for each day of absence to make up the daily work. (For example, a student absent 2 days would
have 2 days to make up class work.) When an absence occurs, it is the STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to check CTLS Learn. If a
student is absent the day of the test or quiz, they are expected to contact me for a makeup time. Dates for tests and quizzes are
given out at minimum the week prior, therefore students are aware and are expected to be prepared.

Extra help: Any student needing extra help is encouraged to arrange a time to meet with me.

Grade Recovery:
Teachers will utilize assessment data to offer retake opportunities for formative assessments, as needed. Students who do not
earn a passing grade on a summative assessment (major test or project, excluding the semester final) will have one retake
opportunity per semester to earn a maximum grade of 70%, provided that all assignments preceding the assessment have
been completed fully and submitted.
