Dear Learners,
• On behalf of School of Corporate Law, IICA, I would like to extend a heartily welcome to
the Three Months Certificate Course in Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws and Procedure
(online).
• This course would be run on a sophisticated online Learning Management System (LMS),
the details about which have already been e-mailed to you. LMS would be dynamic and
interactive for the participants. I am very sure that you would enjoy this new learning
environment.
• The content of the course would be uploaded to the LMS unit-wise as the course
progresses along with all relevant reference and suggested reading material/links. The
learning would therefore be spread over three months in 50+ hour sessions.
• As an enrolled participant of this course, you would be at liberty to post your queries
through LMS and e-mails. If you need an interaction over phone in relation to the
content/delivery of the course please feel free to call any of us during office hours. If you
plan to visit our state-of-the-art campus, please feel free to contact Dr. Pyla Narayana
Rao, Course Coordinator. You may also use our Knowledge Resource Center (KRC) during
your visit.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
At the end of this course, the learners would be able to:
• Enumerate the objectives of the Insolvency and
Bankruptcy Code
• Distinguish between the Corporate Insolvency and
Individual Bankruptcy
• Enumerate the functioning of the Regulatory Bodies under
the Code including Adjudicating Authorities
• Explain the role of various intermediaries under the Code
• Detail the Role of Insolvency Professionals and Information
Utilities
• Explain the Insolvency Resolution Process
• The course would enable the learners to take a decision as
to the future potential of this subject in their professional
career.
MODE OF DELIVERY:
• The School will conduct the Course on a dedicated
online platform via a Learning Management System
(LMS) for almost its entire duration.
• Course Material: For each Unit the copyrighted
course material and/or presentation would be
uploaded separately as per the schedule which can
be read over LMS or downloaded by the
participants, though could not be edited.
• Live Classes: Would be done as per the schedule;
the participants would be able to access the
recorded lecture for some time, if they miss the
same. However, participants are encouraged to
attend the live lectures as it would allow them to
interact with the faculty and the group.
EVALUATION AND EXAMINATIONS
• The online certificate course provides for a continuous
assessment where the learners will get an opportunity to
learn, to understand and self assess their skills and
knowledge. Thus, the learning will be holistic in nature
through scheduled live-virtual classes by the subject
matter experts for each of the 5 modules. The assessment
would be on the following parameters
• Online MCQ Examination (after end of the each module -
20 Questions x 5 = 100 nos.) = 200 marks
• Online Final Examination (at the end of the
course) Multiple Choice Questions and subjective = 300
marks
• At the end of the course the learner
would receive a certificate from IICA on
completion. Pass percentage would be
60% (including both online MCQ &
Online Final Examination)
• The Certificate would be given only after
successful completion of the course by
the learner.

• Unit-2: Need for Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code:
Exploring the rationale and objectives
• Unit-3 Companies Act, 2013: Drawing the interface
• Unit-4: Sick Companies and Recovery of Debt
• Unit-5: Recovery of Debt from Individuals and
Enterprises other than Companies
MODULE 2
Authorities and Enforcement Mechanism in IBC
2016
Module 2 covers the following five units:
• Unit-1: Role of Adjudicating Authorities
• Unit-2: Role of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy
Board of India (IBBI)
• Unit-3: Role of Insolvency Professional Agencies
and Insolvency Professionals
• Unit-4: Role of Information Utilities

Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process
(CIRP)
