SCOPE

The aim of this method statement is to highlight procedures/sequence of activities that will be
implemented to place concrete for walls.

2. EQUIPMENT AND PLANT


The following equipment will be utilized:

 Concrete Mixer trucks


 Truck mounted Concrete pump
 Banana Bucket
 Bell Water Tanker
 Compressor
 50 Ton Crane
 Poker Vibrators

3. MATERIALS

The following material will be utilized:

 Temporary Formwork Material (Economic Panels, push props, etc.)


 Reinforcement
 Concrete

4. SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONS

The operations or sequence of activities will be as follows:


 Reinforcement steel will be fixed for the first lift (layer).
 The formwork will be pre-fixed to the design in gang forms, and then placed in position
mark out by survey, both the inner wall and outer wall shutters up to reduce level
1517,700.
 Concrete will be placed to the reducing level of 1517,700. The concrete will be
consolidated with poker vibrators
 The concrete will be cure according to specifications.
 The following layers reinforcement will then be installed.
 The following inner and outer seperate gangform as per design shuttering will then be
placed in position, and alligned by surveyors.
 The concrete will then be placed to the RL 1519,200. The concrete will be consolidated
with poker vibrators
 The concrete will be cure according to specifications.
 The reinforcement will then be fixed for the following lift.
 The first layer of gang form shutters will be stripped and placed on top to make the third
lift for concrete formwork.
 The formwork will be checked for alignment by the surveyors.
 Concrete will be placed to the RL 1520,700. The concrete will be consolidated with poker
vibrators
 The concrete will be cure according to specifications.
 The following lift reinforcement will be fixed.
 The second lift shutters will be stripped and placed on top of the third lift shutters.
 The surveyor will check the alignment.
 Concrete will be poured to the RL 1522,200. The concrete will be consolidated with
poker vibrators
 The concrete will be cure according to specifications.
 The following lift reinforcement will be fixed.
 The third lift shutters will be stripped and placed on top of the Fourth lift shutters.
 The surveyor will check the alignment.
 Concrete will be poured to the RL 1523,700. The concrete will be consolidated with
poker vibrators
 The concrete will be cure according to specifications.
 The following lift reinforcement will be fixed.
 The fourth lift shutters will be stripped and placed on top of the fifth lift shutters.
 The surveyor will check the alignment.
 Concrete will be poured to the RL 1525,000. The concrete will be consolidated with
poker vibrators.
 The concrete will be cure according to specifications.
 The formwork will be stripped after the procedure is done.

5. QUALITY CONTROL

 Shutter check
 Concrete sampling.
6. HEALTH AND SAFETY

The Contractor will adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Construction
Regulations.

The Contractor has a full time Safety Officer on site responsible to ensure that all safety
requirements are adhered to. Personnel working on the site will make use of Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety boots, hard hats, dust masks, etc.
