Revised Lateral Capacity & Reinforcement

The document discusses revisions to a pile design based on customer comments. It provides the following key points: 1) The soil profile and phi values up to the depth of ground improvement are taken from lab test reports, while below that depth the original soil report values are used. 2) The calculated compression capacity is in order based on standards and will be tested on site. 3) An N-value of 7 is used in lateral capacity calculations based on weighted averaging, and this too will be tested on site. 4) The pile head condition is revised to "free head" according to design standards for a single pile. Stirrup reinforcement is increased to 8mm bars at 150mm centers.

The Soil profile is considered as per the said bore Hole only, However the ᶲ
value upto depth of ground improvement of 13.5m is taken from the lab
report after ground improvement(see already attached Lab report of Test
patch Page 17 of 19). The values of phi for depth below ground
improvement is taken as per the soil report before ground improvement.
The Value of ki is taken as per Note 3 of Annexure B of IS 2911 Part 1 Sec 1
2010. Hence the calculated compression capacity is in order and the same
shall further be tested at site.

Noted. The weighted average value of N upto depth of fixidity is 7.62. Hence
accordingly N value of 7 is considered in the lateral capacity calculation. And
the same shall further be tested at site.

As per clause 6.5.2.1 of IS 2911 Part 1 Sec 1 2010, the free head condition is
to be considered as the single pile is under consideration.
Noted and incorporated.
