CA 3 Therapeutic Modalities Notes

- Therapeutic modalities are correctional treatment methods aimed at rehabilitating offenders. They focus on rehabilitating the individual rather than solely punishing criminal behavior. - Prisons classify inmates into minimum, medium, and maximum security levels based on the perceived danger they pose and length of sentence. Inmates are further classified within prisons and assigned work details and levels of supervision/freedom. - The goal of classification and therapeutic programs in prisons is the rehabilitation and reformation of inmates to prevent reoffending when they return to society. However, prisons often face challenges like lack of trained staff.
