Students can identify and write their number from 1 to 10


Lesson Objective:

Through the use of presentation, videos, activities and class discussion students will be able to add problems up to the
amount of ten.

Lesson Content:
Addition:
Finding the total, or sum, by combining two or more numbers.

Skills:
1. Matching, because students will be matching the number of objects to the numerical symbol.
2. Counting, students will be counting out the objects to be able to match them to their respective numerical
symbol.
3. Speaking, students will be volunteering to answer questions and explain to the class how they got to their
answers.
Attitudes:

1. Appreciation, for being able to listen to a story and participate in discussion.


2. Enthusiastically participate during the lesson by answering questions.
3. Confidence, students will show confidence when speaking because they will have practice doing so.

Suggested Activities/Procedures:
Introductory Activities ( 8 mins.):

Students will watch and sing along to the 5 Little Speckled Frogs.

Students will receive a ziplock bag with a certain amount of objects to count and then tell the teacher how much of that
object is in the bag.

Developmental Activities/Procedures (45 mins.):

Students will then be asked to elicit topic from previous activity.

A poster will then be placed on the board explaining what is addition.

Teacher will then discuss with students in further details what is addition and how to solve additional problems.

Students will be selected randomly to solve addition problems.

Students will be given a worksheet that contains additional problems from numbers between 1 to 10 to solve.

Culmination & Closure ( 7 mins.):

In pairs students will play a challenge against different teams to solve additional problems on the board.
