Fig. 36: no values for IH adjustment at the beginning of the IH adjustment process for small filament
The values of initial adjustment of the small filament must be “0” for all value rang‐
es.
If not, click any value box .
A heating parameter program window will pop up.

Select Middle/High Dose Level( 4/Fig. 38 Page 45), activate “Tech Lock”
( 1/Fig. 38 Page 45), adjust to 70 KV( 2/Fig. 38 Page 45) and 8.4
mA( 3/Fig. 38 Page 45).
The picture ( Fig. 39 Page 46) shows a current maximum that is higher than the
established current value; this is because of the heating current. Therefore, lower
values have to be selected in the heating tool.
g) Repeat steps a) and b).
Select the new heating parameter.
All four exposure points, 0.1 / 0.5 / 5 / 15 mA in column (60-90 KV, Heat Corr.), must
select the new heating parameter.
n For values within range -10 ~ +10, click the value; the new heating parameter
will be selected.
n For values <-10 and >+10, adjust the value by clicking the - and + buttons, the
new heating parameter is selected by clicking the Program button
In this check ( Fig. 41 Page 47), the current should not show any peaks.
i) The heating adjustment values are then propagated to all the exposure points for
small focus in the service application.
It may be necessary to select the heating parameter and check the heating correction
several times until the current does not show any peaks.
a) Set the hardware "SERV" switch on the D610 board to position “2”
Fig. 43: no values for IH adjustment at the beginning of the IH adjustment process for large filament
The values of the initial adjustment for the large filament must be 0 for all value
ranges.
If not, click any value box .
A heating parameter program window will pop up ( Fig. 37 Page 45)
Select 0 for all values
c) Exit Local Generator Tools and Exit Service Software
d) Set the hardware "SERV" switch on the D610 board to position “1”
e) Use cassette mode to check the large filament. Register a New Patient and select
Application Organ Program “Ortho Standard”. Adjust to 70
KV( 2/Fig. 38 Page 45) and 2.5 mAs( 3/Fig. 38 Page 45).
The picture( Fig. 44 Page 50) shows that the initial heating current is too low. In
this case, a positive adjustment must be carried out.
In large focus, only the initial box accepts parameters, the other exposure points will
have the first box value propagated.
n For values within range -10 ~ +10, click the value; the new heating parameter
will be selected.
n For values <-10 and >+10, adjust the value by clicking the - and + buttons, the
new heating parameter is selected by clicking the Program button
h) Repeat steps c) to f), release an exposure to check the current status at 70 kV 2.5
mAs in cassette mode
In this check ( Fig. 46 Page 52) the initial current does not show any current
peaks and is similar to the established current. In such a case this adjustment pa‐
rameter can be accepted.
It may be necessary to select the heating parameter and check the heating correction
several times until the current does not show any peaks.
i) Once the IH parameter is fixed, check the current at a higher (110 KV /15 mAs or
109 KV / 16 mAs) and lower (50 KV / 20 mAs) exposure point for cassette mode.
The higher exposure point will show an small current peak( Fig. 47 Page 53)
and the lower exposure parameter will show a lower initial current
point( Fig. 48 Page 53). This is because the heating adjustment is carried out at
a median exposure parameter and not at the edges.

4.4.2 D610
Generator CPU board/D610 provides the generator controlling function.
4.4.3 D611
STU/D611 (system triggering unit) which as part of generator CPU board/D610 serves 2
functions:
n Triggering of generator (HV_trigger)
n Triggering of camera to the response signal from the generator
4.4.4 D620
Generator Power board/D620 provides the functions: Main Inverter, Filament Inverter,
system On/Off circuit.
4.4.5 D621
RCL/D621 board is part of Main Inverter
Basic Flow:
n The sequence starts when the imaging system (FL-C) sends a frame request.
n The STU activates the X-ray trigger for the X-ray window defined for this frame rate.
n Generator activates X-ray
n The generator stops when the mAs value that has been calculated on the basis of the
previous brightness value (Bsignal value) has been reached or when the pulse time
has reached the max value.
n After the end of the X-ray window the image is transferred to image chain.
n The image chain calculates the actual dose value from the image brightness and
sends this to the generator
n The generator calculates the dose control parameter.
In Cios Select, the timing control unit in the generator (STU board) actively triggers the
generator and camera. The FLC application sends the brightness value from image chain
to generator.
The generator sends acquisition data via XCU to FLC for display and dose record.
n B is the basic gain, is set in factory, and can be checked in the configuration file C:
\Addon\IC\CCDCam_DHECC.xml with key “BasicGain”.
n A is the additional fluoro gain, and can be set in the FLC service
page( 1/Fig. 72 Page 75)
n D is the dose level factor, can be set in the FLC service page( 2/Fig. 72 Page 75)
For S3P (Cios Select), the parameter D (dose factor) is determined only by the dose level,
regardless of the value configured manually in the FLC. This value is 60% for low dose
level, 100% for mid dose level and 200% for high dose level. The configuration in the
FLC service page( 2/Fig. 72 Page 75) will not be applied to the program.
The dose level can be selected via the Dose button( 4/Fig. 75 Page 77) on the CCP.

kV( 2/Fig. 75 Page 77), and adjust mA( 3/Fig. 75 Page 77) to attain the expec‐
ted dose rate on the dose meter.
Tolerance +/- 10%.
Release fluoroscopy at least 5 seconds after each adjustment until dose rate is stable.
4 1
n Once dose rate is reached, open the Acsos trace tools, tune the iris opening to allow
the "IBsignal" value to reach 100 (tolerance +/-6) according to the procedures below.
The dose rate may go out of tolerance when tuning the iris opening.
Monitor the dose rate and “IBsignal” together. Readjust the dose rate if out of
tolerance.
Procedure for opening the Acsos trace tools and viewing the "IBsignal" value:
n Log in to the service software.
n Press the <Ctrl> and <Esc> keys simultaneously to open the Windows Start Menu.
n Click Windows Explorer and access the folder C:\FLC\Addon\Acsos.NT
n Double-click "ACSOS.exe"
The Acsos trace tools application window opens.
n Double-click any line of Telegram ( 1/Fig. 76 Page 79)
The telegram monitoring window opens.
n Select “IBSIGNAL” from the combo list ( 2/Fig. 76 Page 79), and activate both Auto
Updates ( 3/Fig. 76 Page 79) and ( 5/Fig. 76 Page 79)
If “IBSIGNAL” cannot be found in the combo list, close the telegram monitoring window.
Release fluoroscopy and then open it again.

If the output location is a compressed folder (e.g. this directory has the option “compress
drive to save disk space” enabled), the “compress” option must not be selected. Other‐
wise, the extraction will not be successful.
4. Click Extract.
The log will be extracted to the selected location.

The flight recorder represents an independent module that is used to log the complete
AXCS telegram traffic in the system. In addition to continuous logging of telegrams in
separate log files, the current status of the system can also be reported by certain prede‐
fined events or can be triggered by the user. These logs are stored in separate folders.
According to the new flight recorder concept, flight recorder messages – log entries with
severity "M“ – are stored in separate flight recorder-related files and not in the application
log file (FlCompact.log).
In principle, the flight recorder represents the functionality of an ACSOS trace tool. The
flight recorder starts automatically during system startup if this option was configured in
FL-C Service.
Severity Type M (Monitoring): Telegram messages are logged if the flight recorder has
been activated.

n Clicking the “show/close 3D” button opens ( 2/Fig. 94 Page 101) the 3D window
( Fig. 95 Page 102).
Customer workflow is shown with virtual animation, such as controlled motor‐
ized movements or X-ray
The 3D visualization tool can also be used on an external PC, independently of the Cios.
In such a case, the logfiles and the system CAF file of the relevant system would be re‐
quired.
Test Mode
The purpose of Test Mode is to feed in test patterns to perform visualized tests of the
image system.
n Fluoro
Fluoro test under real functional conditions. If this test mode is selected, a special
service organ program is used that ensures an unfiltered image without auto-window‐
ing functionality (open window) will be displayed.
Start Tests
- To start the fluoro check, first activate the Fluoro radio button.
- Click Start.
- Release fluoro by pressing the fluoro switch.
- Click Stop Test to cancel the test
V-flip
If checked, a vertical flip of the displayed image will be performed.
Rotation
The displayed image will be rotated in 90 degree increments. The default is 0 degrees.
n Test Patterns
When this test is selected, you can feed test patterns on the different function boards
into the image chain. In all cases, the test patterns must be visible on the live monitor.
The following two entry points for the test pattern are used to check whether the I.I.
image pipeline is working properly.
- [1] Camera -> GPU
This is used to check the status of the image chain parts from the camera to GPU
board. A simulated test image or a live image will be created by the camera (see
Live mode, above) and processed to the GPU.
- [2] GPU
Image post-processing board self-test A simulated image will be processed to the
GPU.
The test patterns will be in the following two image modes.
- Digital
Camera digital CCD test A digital test pattern is used to test the camera
- Live Mode
The live camera image is displayed directly.
This option is only provided if the test pattern entry point [1] Camera -> GPU is se‐
lected.
If Test Pattern entry point [2] GPU has been selected, the “Live Mode” option is not
selectable and the "Digital" option is selected automatically.
Start Tests
- Activate the Test Patterns radio button.
- Select the Entry Point and Image mode.
- Click Start.
- Click Stop Test to cancel the test
While the test is running, the viewer always sees the resulting images on the live
monitor.
- Rotation: Rotates the displayed image in steps of 90 degrees. The default is 0 de‐
grees.
- Stop Test: Cancels the last test sequence performed.
