Reaction on "The Importance of Having a (Well-Designed) Author Website"

According to Balge (2019), “The importance of having a well-designed author website is it lets
you shine. Your author website is all about you. Who you are, what you do, what you’ve written, and the
list goes on. You’re not fighting for space and attention from other people like on social media, and you
don’t have to worry about a new algorithm getting in the way of people seeing your posts. Your website
is yours and no one else’s—you have the control. Even if you’re starting from social media, people will
often want to be directed to your website to learn more about you. Your website is one of many
marketing tools to help bring in new readers. Having a website makes you look professional. Seeing you
as a professional in the field makes readers want to read what must be an amazing book, judging by
your website design and information.”

Indeed, without any doubt in creating an author website we need to consider the quality of the
website and how well-developed it is in order to get the attention of the target audience. It is essential
that it will have a wonderful designs and styles if we are aiming for a wider scope of readers not just to
view and be passive but rather to stay and patronize your products and books. It would have a great
impact if the website has its bad and poor design where people leave disappointment on you and your
products. You would lose potential clients and customers of yours because of your not so nice style and
design. Based on Smart Insights (2020) that your website is a reflection of your brand and everything
that it stands for. It is usually one of the first things people look at to get to know a brand and therefore
helps form the first impression. Likewise, your website design elements, like colors, fonts, images, etc.
all form your brand identity. Therefore, you need to select those elements carefully and keep them
consistent across your website. The more user-friendly your website is, the more likely it is that people
will engage with your content and take the desired action. A good website design should aim to provide
the best user experience, which ultimately translates into conversions .

To sum up, you should design your website in a way that makes it accessible to all. This means
designing your website so that people with disabilities can also access it. Give them the best designs,
styles and experiences that they ever fascinated about to get the attention as always both your avid
readers and potential customers. The ultimate goal of anyone visiting your website is to quickly find the
information that they are looking for and your website design should make that process easier and help
visitors navigate your website without getting lost.
