Students will: Be able to understand how they are currently spending their time and
better manage their schedules
Students will: Be able to schedule and prioritize times to set their schedules for
homework, study times and leisure activities

Procedure: Describe how you will:
Introduce: (5 min) Counselors will introduce themselves and do a wellness check by asking
students to post an emoji on the Nearpod slide that shows how they are
feeling.
(5 min) Do Now Activity: Counselors will ask, “How much of your typical
school week do you spend stressed about not having enough time to
complete tasks or reach a goal? Students will post their responses to this
question on the collaborative board in Nearpod. Counselors will read
aloud responses and students will “like” responses they agree with.
Communicate Counselors will explain, by the end of the lesson you will understand why time
Lesson Objective: management is important, how to successfully manage your schedule to
complete assignments and have time for other activities.
Teach Content: (10 minutes) Counselor will explain: Since you this group already
completed your SMART Goals; you will now move on to implement the
action part of your academic goals.
● Counselor will start by asking-Currently, how do I spend my time?

Practice Content: Students will set-up time for the goal they’ve set-up, add times where
they want to relax and block times for other classes.
Step 1: “Google Calendar Reminder & Tasks Set-up” (10 minutes)
Step 2: “Google Calendar Phone Reminder Set-up” (10 minutes)
Step 3: “Physical Reminder” (5 minutes)
Summarize: Ask students what changes they can make over the next week after
seeing how to set-up their schedules and where they currently spend
their time?
Close: Remind students to establish a consistent time and place for homework
to be completed. Update and check their calendar to stay on track with
their assignments. Reiterate the importance of time management- to
lessen their stress and have free time. Send video of how-to set-up
reminders on Google Calendar and phone (Android & iPhone)
