Unusual animals
No one knows how many species of animal there are in the world. Some people say there are over one million
and now others say eight million! There are also lots of unusual animals. Here are some of the most unusual
animals in the world …

A Blobfish
Blobfish live deep in the sea near Australia. In the sea, they look like normal fish but they look different out of
the water. They look like old men with big noses and sad faces!

B Glass frog
This frog usually lives in trees near the lakes and rivers of South America. It looks like a normal frog but there
is one difference. You can see inside this frog. You can see its heart and its stomach!

C Jerboa
The Jerboa lives in deserts around the world. It lives in very hot places but it doesn’t drink water. It looks like a
small kangaroo but it isn’t one. It has long back legs and a long tail. It can jump well and it can run very fast.

D Three-toed sloth
This animal lives in the rainforests of South America. It is famous because it’s very slow. It has long fingers
