3.5 REGISTRATION
Depending on country of use, your kayak may need
registration before use on certain waterways. Check with local
environmental, waterway or coastguard authorities for details
of local, regional and national requirements. Some areas may
require that you register and display a registration number on the
front of your kayak.
The U.S. Coast Guard requires that all power boats operated
on the navigable waters of the United States must be registered
in the state of main use; also, many States require registration
in that state whenever boating on waters within their state
boundary. Always contact your state boating authorities (and
neighbouring states) for registration information on boats. Once
you have been issued a number, it is best to affix it on the boat
by printing it on the material with a permanent ink marker.
3.6 EDUCATION
This manual is not intended to provide complete training on all
aspects of boat operation.

5. INFLATION VALVES
There is one valve per inflatable chamber and the valve itself is
split into two parts. By unscrewing the dust cap you will reveal
a small opening which is used for inflation. By unscrewing the
larger section of the valve you will reveal a larger opening used
for deflation (see above illustration).

Twist valve
1 The inflatable seats use a twist valve for inflation and deflation.
It is opened by twisting the valve anticlockwise until air flows
freely through it.

2 Inflate the seats by inserting the correct nozzle into the twist
valve. Push firmly to seat the nozzle into the valve.
4 After inflation and before removing the nozzle, twist the valve
clockwise until tight and fully closed.

6 Partially inflate the side chambers, until the fabric cover shape
begins to fill out. The kayak should feel soft or limp at this point.
7 Make sure the valves are aligned with the holes in the cover
(see 6.1 step 2). Adjust the cover and/or valves to realign if
necessary.
8 Next add air to the side and floor chambers in turn, until most
of the wrinkles are gone and the kayak feels firm to the touch.
Do not exceed the pressure of 1.5 psi for both the floor and side
chambers.

4 Inflate the seat pad section of the child seat in the same way
as the adult seat.
5 To inflate the backrest section, use the nozzle that fits inside
the non-return valve. Push the nozzle all the way in, inflate and
then remove the nozzle. After inflation close the non-return valve
cap securely.
Footrest
6 To fit the seats, attach to the kayak floor using the Velcro strips
running lengthways as shown in the illustration. Suggested seat
configurations can be found in section 6.5.
7 Once the seats are attached to the floor, clip the seat straps
into the appropriate D-ring attachment point on the sides of the

7. ON THE WATER
Most areas have local laws and regulations about the use and
equipment of small boats. You may wish to contact the relevant
authority who will be able to provide you with the needed
information. Some areas may require that you register and
display a registration number on the front of your kayak.
After you have inflated your kayak and before you put it in the
water, inspect your equipment for obvious signs of wear or
failure.
27
7. ON THE WATER
d) Cold - The combination of water and wind can cool you down
extremely quickly even on sunny days, so a windproof garment
is often a good idea. Be sure to dress appropriately and carry
spare clothing where necessary.

11. TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Solution
Slow leak Check valve gaskets and make sure the fabric shell is not interfering
with the seal. The valve must be closed tightly.
Still leaks slowly Check for pin hole punctures - see Owners Manual for repair
instructions.
Valves don’t align If the air chambers are not aligned with the valves in the centre of the
holes:
a) Unzip the cover.
b) Partially inflate the chamber.
c) Realign the air chambers to the correct position within the
fabric shell.
d) Close zip cover and inflate chambers with the footpump
provided.
e) If the valve becomes impinged by the fabric, it can put
pressure on the valve. To prevent this, ensure the valve stays
clear of the fabric hole during inflation.
Stuck zipper If a zipper is stuck, do not force it open. Instead, wash with a
toothbrush and soap and water. Rinse completely once opened.
Never unzip the cover when the kayak is inflated.
Drying kayak Use the drain plug in rear of hull to drain water from the kayak and
wipe down with high-absorbing sponge. Store the kayak inflated until
dry. Do not place in direct sunlight to dry. Do not store while wet.
