Vietnam Wire & Cable market is highly fragmented with over 200 enterprises involved in the

production and export of electric wires and cables. The market is dominated by local companies,
with Cadivi being the largest owning 25% of the market, followed by ThiPha Cable (20.2%) and
Cadisun (16.8%). FDI enterprises in this market usually focus on production in order to supply their
associated companies abroad.

The supply within this market is highly dependent on prices of raw materials, with copper being the
most important ingredient determining the cost of wire and cable. On the other hand, demand for
wire and cable is mostly driven by urbanization, which boosts demand for power and infrastructure
development and thus, in turn, drive the demand of wires and cables.

According to Decision 1208/QĐ-TTg on Approval of the national electricity development planning

period 2011 - 2020 with a vision to 2030, the country would build an addition of 4,958km 500kV
power line and 10,572km 200kV power line throughout 2021-2030 period, posing a great increase in
demand for medium and high voltage cable.

On the other hand, demand for medium and low voltage cable is expected to rise as a result of
growing construction market. In June 2020, the national assembly adopted the law on PPP
investment, which is aimed at regulating investment activities and attracting private investment
under the PPP model. The government's efforts to balance supply and demand for affordable
housing will support construction industry, especially residential sector. According to the General
Statistics Office (GSO), the construction industry's value-add grew by 5.7% year on year (YoY) in real
terms in the third quarter of 2020. Vietnam’s building construction sector is expected to grow
strongly at an annual average of 7.2% from 2021 to 2029 (Fitch).

All things considered; the Vietnam Wire & Cable market is expected to grow at CAGR of 15.9%
during 2020-2024 period.
