ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To implement limited primary health care and occupational medicine programmes according to business
requirements and known medical protocols. The Occupational Health Practitioner works independently, applying
given medical protocols in providing a high level and efficient Occupational Health care directly to employees /
patients.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

Promoting and rendering limited Primary Health Care. Implementing Occupational Ill Health management and
Emergency. Treating and managing injuries on duty according to protocol guidelines. Achieve quality Medical and
Nursing care to all Sasol Mining employees. Adhere to business requirements and Sasol Secunda Medical Centre
protocols and work instructions

 Render an efficient limited Primary Health care through assessment, management and referral

 Monitor and management chronic diseases and medical cases


 Ill Health:  Attending and monitoring of Illness disease management at medical centre and attending
reasonable accommodation forum.
 TB Management (DOT’s) according to protocol and TB illness investigations
 Adhere to quality management systems complying with audit non-conformances.
 Initiate project plans and ensure that work and health programs meet business requirements, demands and
objectives.
 Liaising with internal stakeholders external stakeholders to reach common goals to ensure quality medical
service within the team.
 Adhere and commit to all Sasol Values. 
 Compliance to all work Instruction and protocols
