A. Industry Analysis
- Define the industry that you will be competing in
- Analyze your industry using Porter’s Five Forces Framework
- Using results above and in Five Forces analysis, make conclusion about
the overall attractiveness of your industry
- Use the EFE Matrix to assess how your company is responding to the
opportunities and threats in the environment, which should be obtained
from the combined results of your environmental assessment and the
industry analysis using Five Forces analysis (Note: Show paired comparison)

- Evaluate your competitors and your company vis-a-vis the
key success factors using the
Competitive Profile Matrix (use table to show comparison)
- Make a conclusion about your current company’s
competitive position or business strength in the
industry, e.g., very strong, strong, weak, middle ground, etc.

STRATEGIC (OR LONG-TERM) OBJECTIVES
Provide a clear statement of your strategic or long-
term objectives (maximum of 2) for the company or
the business, whichever is the relevant unit of
analysis. This must be consistent with the company’s
vision/mission, and should preferably state a
measurable objective, e.g., market position, sales or
revenue growth, net income or profit level, etc. Long-
term can be anywhere from three to five, or even ten
years, depending on the nature of the business.

STRATEGY FORMULATION
A. Generation of Strategic Options
- Use the different strategy formulation tools (TOWS, IE, and
SPACE) to come up with strategic options.
- If you think you can change your competitive position from
a weak one to a more favorable one, state so and then
recommend a set of strategies on the basis of the stronger
competitive position.
- Show summary table of all the strategies enumerated

B. Recommended Business Strategies
- Evaluate your strategic options using QSPM to be
able to choose the BEST strategy
This should provide a more specific and more
comprehensive discussion of your proposed
strategies. (Don’t state your strategies in generic
terms!)

 ACTION PLANS AND DEPARTMENTAL PROGRAMS
- This should outline the different program and step
by step action plan that will be undertaken to progress
the implementation of the strategic plan. The action
plans can be classified my major strategic programs or
by department, or both.
- Specify milestones/expected output, timetable,
persons or units responsible, and resource
requirements, if major.

 STRATEGY EVALUATION/MONITORING AND CONTROL
- Briefly discuss how some major plans for monitoring the
success of the implementation of the plan, what key
performance measures will be monitored, what support
systems may be needed to ensure successful implementation
of the plans.
