today class?
Yes ma’am.

B. Motivation
What was biggest lie that you have
experienced in your life?

(Answers vary.)

What could be the possible effects of too

much lying to someone?

Ma’am, the trust of the person towards the

other one will eventually fade, and
sometimes, they will lose their care for you
and that his/her perspective in life will never
be the same anymore.
Do you still love those persons who once lied Of course Ma’am. We are only mad about the
to you? deed. But such deed would never change our
feelings toward those persons.

(Answers vary.)

It seems that your answers can’t be measured

by depth and all came from your heart. Those
questions I asked you deal with the song we
are going to hear. It is the song of Rhianna,
“Love the Way you Lie.” I want you to
understand and feel the song. We are going to
know what is all about the song after
listening to the song.

Yes Ma’am!
Are you ready to listen to the song?
(Students listen to the song.)

What is all about the song, class? It is all about two people who meet and fall
in love, however, as time goes on, they start
to resent each other. It is all about the love of
a woman to her man even though she
experiences physical and emotional abuse.
Despite those experiences, she still stays
beside him

Let us now observe some lines from the song.

1. I can barely breathe.

2. You never do nothing to hurt them.
3. I still fight. (Students read the sentences altogether.)
4. Watch her leave out of the window.
5. You ever be love somebody so much.

word, class?

in the first sentence? The word being modified in the first sentence
is breathe.

Correct! How about the second sentence? Do is the word being described in the second
sentence.

Another correct answer! How about the third

one? The word fight is the one being modified.

Right! And in the fourth sentence?

The word leave is described in the sentence.

Very good! How about the last sentence?

Ma’am, the word love.

Look at the sentences for the second time.

What questions do they answer? The sentences are answerable by how, where,
when, how many times and to what extent.

You got it! What do you think is our lesson

for today? Ma’am our lesson for today deals with
adverbs.

C. Discussion

Based on the clip, what are the words that

adverbs modify? Ma’am they modify a verb, an adjective and
another adverb.

Based on your answer, what do you think

now is the meaning of an adverb? Adverbs are words that modify a verb, an
