Renewable energy sources can be replenished naturally, like sunlight, wind, rain and tides, while nonrenewable sources like coal, oil and natural gas cannot be replenished once depleted. Deforestation causes problems such as increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, loss of biodiversity, soil erosion and disruption of water cycles, as trees play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance.
