5. Pre-Start Requirements for Site
1. Client site rules and procedures to be followed.
2. Preparation of all required tools for the execution of the intended works.
3. Assuring of Provision of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
4. Ensuring working area is clear of obstruction and hazard.
5. Visual Inspection of the Tools required for the intended works.
6-Preinstallation
1. All procured material and approved shop drawings relevant to this works will be checked by the
construction department of the client representative prior to commencement of works.
2. Ensure all drawings are approved and available to the installation team.
3. Material used such as cable ladder, ladder coupling, bends, and other supporting material will be as
approved by the Client.
4. The sizes and cable ladders routing will be as per the approved shop drawing.
5. Installation of cable ladder shall be as per the approved shop drawing.
6. Ensuring Structure works completion before starting of the installation of cable ladders.
7-Delivery, Storge and Handling
1. Site deliveries should preferably only be made where suitable mechanical handling equipment is
available on site (Crane or Forklift).
2. Cable Ladders shall be properly supported and stacked on a flat surface.
3. Cable Ladders shall be protected from sunlight and moisture by covering them with plastic cover.
4. Cable Ladders shall be stacked properly in neat and orderly manner.
5. Cable Ladders shall be stored and stacked in dry area and shall be properly protected (in the Container).
8-Installation
1. Installation of cable ladder in the area where there is access and structure work are complete.
2. Mark the locations of supports, spacing between supports shall be as recommended by the manufacturer.
Minimum spacing should be not less than 1.5m.
3. Cable ladder to be handled using crane to transport the cable ladder on high level, or by means of labors on
same floors, and from floor to next floor location.
4. Install expansion connectors where cable ladder crosses a building expansion joint and in cable
ladder runs that exceed 27 m. Make changes in direction and elevation using standard fittings.
Make cable ladder connections using standard fittings.
5. Install the threaded rod and angle bar supports or cantilever supports for horizontal installation and vertical
cable ladder supported on uni-strut channel and bracket and all shall be supplied by the cable ladder
manufacture and all subject to approval of the shop drawings and specifications.
6. Installation of cable ladder channel support on structure using suitable specified beam clamps.
7. Install the ladders ensuring that are properly fixed to its supports.
8. Elbows and couplings shall be provided by the same cable ladder manufacturer.
9. Specified Earth bonding jumper shall be fixed on the adjacent connection of cable ladder to maintain the
earth bonding continuity on expansion joint and where there is discontinuity of cable ladder Expansion joint
to be installed on cable ladder on the conveyor walkway at interval of 27 m.
10. 120mm PVC main earth cable shall be installed on complete route of cable ladder for cable ladder
earthing.

11. Spacing for ladder support shall be minimum of 1.5m.
12. Cable ladder shall be connected to ground in different points as specified.
13. Cable ladder to be installed above piping unless accessibility to cable ladder is required.
14. Single 900 bends are not permitted. Use 2 Nos. 45 degrees bends to achieve gradual bends.
15. Cable ladder cover shall be at least 30cm below structure beam to have an appropriate access for cable
pulling.
16. The cable ladder shall be covered by the specified elevated type in all location apart from the conveyor’s
walkway, it shall be without cover as per tender documents.
17. After installation of cable ladders is completed, install warning signs in visible locations on or near cable
ladders.
18. Treatment of cut:
Remove burrs and sharp edges from cable ladders.
Repair cut or damage to galvanized finishes with zinc-rich paint (Galva Brilliant) which is recommended
by manufacturer.
Apply successively 2 layers of Galva Brilliant coat and wait 15-20 minutes between layers, Complete
drying under 24 hours.
Apply Final coat using SPECTRAL GLOSS (or Equivalent) for 2-3 spray passes, Intermediate Flash off time
of 2-spray passes is 5-10 minutes.

19. Provide final protection and maintain conditions, in a manner acceptable to manufacturer and Installer that
ensure cable ladder is without damage or deterioration at the time of Substantial Completion.
20. Route of cable ladder shall be almost complete before installing cables, and to provide drop out either by
conduits or smaller cable ladder to various equipment cable termination boxes or to instrument enclosures
or instrument power panels.
21. Labeling of ladders shall be as per APC standards; size of letters and color of labels, marking and references
shall be as per the relevant standard regulations, at every change in direction an ID is required and every 12
meters of straight run.
22. Seal penetrations through fire and smoke barriers according to Specifications
9-Inspections and Tests
1. Visual Inspection: inspection of condition of each piece cable ladder, fittings. expansion joints and other
accessories, quality of workmanship, alignment, tightness, labelling and the like, all in conformance with the
Specification.
2. Check the thickness of the HDG Coating as per the approved submittal and project specification.
3. Anchorage: Test pullout resistance for toggle bolts and powder-driven threaded studs for each type and size
of anchorage material (if Applicable).
4. All record has to be reported and written.
