Definition of terms

This study provides strong evidence explaining sight reading. These are the following
terms that are defined in our research.

Sight reading

Most people in music literature commonly use the term "sight-reading" generically for
"the ability to read and produce both instrumental and vocal music at first sight. They can
look at the printed music and hear it in their heads without playing or singing.

Musicians

A musician is a person who plays a musical instrument or is musically talented.


Anyone who composes, conducts, or performs music is referred to as a musician. A
musician who plays a musical instrument is also known as an instrumentalist. A person
who is able to play a number of instruments is called a multi-instrumentalist.

Musical composition

Musical composition or simply composition can refer to an original piece or work of


music, either vocal or instrumental, the structure of a musical piece or to the process of
creating or writing a new piece of music.
