1. INTRODUCTION

In this summary we will find the importance at the moment of sending

merchandise, and the points that we must consider to make sure if it is convenient for
us, as much economically as the urgency that we must send this merchandise, and to
accommodate to the one that but it is convenient for us, or by air, terrestrial or marine.

Here we can find the guidelines, and how to handle each of these means of
transport, in order to have the best decision and that by law we have to make before
sending merchandise.

2. RESUMEN “PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION: THE BASIC”

At some point companies, whether they are small, medium or large, need to
transport goods, the transport must be chosen very well, to find the perfect balance
between time and budget constraints.

Before choosing the type of transport you should be aware of the following:

1. The budget is important when choosing the transport for our goods.
2. The speed of the transport, according to your urgency or the place where you
are going to send it.
3. You should consider that if your merchandise is valuable and goes by sea
you should buy insurance to take care of your products and if it is by road use
a vehicle tracking system.

The following types of transport should be considered for your products

depending on the size and urgency:

Road: Road transport is economical, although it has drawbacks with

pollution and can be delayed. It must be taken into account that the truck has a
weight and height limit, and finally if the goods are going abroad, the CMR note
must be investigated.

Rail: Rail transport is fast, environmentally friendly and does not tend to
have delays, but it is expensive, can be economical if the load is equal to or
greater than 300 tons and they go far more than 150 miles.

Air: Air freight is certainly faster, but it is expensive because they charge
according to the weight of the goods, apart from fuel, customs duties and
security, for more information you can enter the website British International

Sea: It is very economical if your shipment of goods is large, the downside

is that it takes a long time to reach its destination. Sea cargo ships are composed

of container ships, cargo ships, bulk carriers, oil tankers, roll-on-
roll-off vessels. Finally, it has two types of ships, those with fixed
routes with fixed schedules, and roving ships that fit the customer's need.

Courier: They are reliable, but they cover a short distance and the volume
of merchandise is very small.

4. CONCLUSIONS

In conclusion, this summary shows us that it does not matter the means of
transport, but what we really need according to our need, urgency and economy, there
are many ways to send the goods, the important thing is that the product arrives well
and on time covering all the requirements that by law we must respect.
