BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Introduction

Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (SWK) the new name in the regional branch of the Kumisyon

sa Wikang Filipino (KWF). It indicates itself of the new and more extensive orientation of the

Center under the administration of KWF. In addition to language treatments, the Center is

expected to participate and if it may take the lead in advancing the cultural characteristics of the

area (town, province, or region) in place. Introduces through such reorientation in the Center's

direction the conviction of KWF in the language as an active part of the community life and thus

storage the wisdom and experience of society. Culture is the content of the language, so it is

more concrete to search and cherish the language associated with the culture of anyone who use

it.

Social media this day is the best environment for platting information. A website is

important for organizations as an effective source of information for potential users. Though

many are struggling on what role it will play, organizations must understand that social media

could be reliable (Colleen Dilenschneider 2016). Having a proper website will benefit

organizations. Lot of them are accustomed by their web designers wherein good designs are

additional strategy to gain interest from users. And social media community managers are

important for they are the organization’s valuable mediators (Colleen Dilenschneider 2016).

 An accessible collection of documents or files in the internet is a website. In the new era

of technology lot of changes are occurring. And as time goes by improvement of process in work

in some institutions, organizations, and in the society are needed for convenience and at a least of

time. The SWK website will help distribute all given orders by KWF for the benefit of its

members, concerned citizens, and even communities around it.

This website will revive the love and interest of students, in their language and culture,

even other individuals in the community around it may also be imparted. It will also be a source

of information for announcements and events of the organization. And through some

technological advancements and trends improvements are conducted.

Objectives of the Study

This study aimed to creating a website for Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) at Occidental

Mindoro.

Specifically, this study aimed to:

1. Design an Interactive website with the following features:

a. Easy-to-use website;

b. Easy-to-access and view or show all information on Website Development of

Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) ng Occidental Mindoro;

c. Contains some interactive buttons such as Bahay Pahina, About Us, Misyon,

Bisyon, Seksyon ng Panawagan at iba pang kumento;

d. Generate Activity Reports of the activity and events for quarterly of the year;

e. Contains interactive buttons, images, and animation;

f. Uploads latest information and other upcoming activities.

2. Create Interactive Website Development of Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) ng

Occidental Mindoro using the following:

a) Adobe Photoshop to enhance the image

b) CSS

c) HTML

d) Different kinds of Browser, Mozilla firefox, and google chrome.

e) Notepad++

f) Sublime Text

g) Microsoft PowerPoint for Presentations

 h) Microsoft Word edit some text

3. Evaluate the performance of the developed system in terms of functionality content,

reliability, and availability.

 Significance of the Study

This Website Development of Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) ng Occidental Mindoro

will helped to promote language and culture of Occidental Mindoro for all the Filipino

community around all over world.

This study benefits the various sectors as follows:

Students. This website helps them to enhance their knowledge to certain topics about

language and culture of Occidental Mindoro.

Teachers. This system will enable them to develop their knowledge, and it can be used

as their reference.

Parents. Through this website, parents can learn about language and culture through

can introduce and use to teach their children.

Developer. This website will give them an idea to create more educational about

Scope and Limitations

The research project focused on the creation, design, testing evaluation, and modification

of a Website Development of Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) ng Occidental Mindoro. The

study was intended for students, parents, teachers, and all of the members of the organization

Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) at Occidental Mindoro.

The website will be design and developed using the Adobe Photoshop, CSS, HTML,

Notepad++, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and different kinds of browsers like Internet

Explorer and Google Chrome.

The website provides the information about the mission, vision, fundamentals,

importance, concept, mandate, duties and responsibilities of Sentro ng wika at kultura (SWK) at

Occidental Mindoro.

Conceptual Framework

The research paradigm in Figure 1 shows the input-process-output procedure in the

The three input requirements needed to process the data. The process involve in

developing the system are project design, operation and testing procedure, and evaluation to

prove its efficiency and reliability.

Operational Definition of Terms

For a clear comprehension of the terms and for better understanding, the following

important terms are defined operationally, according to their use in this study.

Website. A place you can collect different information such as internet.

Google Map. It includes the specific location of SWK Occidental Mindoro featured at

website.

Browser. It is an application program that is used by the proponents for retrieving,

presenting and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web.

Web Development. It is the overall process, including coding, and other information

used to create the good-looking interactive website.

Web Design. It is the researches’ preference as to color, front styles and sizes, texts,

images, alignment, spacing, and other details to make the system appealing to its users.

Project Designing. It is a part of a development process wherein the design is

constructed and implement.

 Coding. The process of creating the content of website; it is composed of letters,

numbers and symbols which are readable in some applications use in the system.

Adobe Photoshop. The software used to edit icons, logos, and other images to enhance

the website developed.

Laptop. These are the devices used to browse Interactive Website of SKW Occidental

Computer Mouse. It is an input device that is most often used with a personal computer.

Computer Desktop. An electronic device used by the proponents for storing and

processing data, it is not computer portable with a system unit. It has a larger storage than laptop

computer.

Laptop Computer. A Desktop Computer like device that do the task almost like it and it

is portable unlike desktop.

Keyboard. A keyboard is the set of typewriter-like keys used by the proponents to enter

data into a computer. Computer keyboards are similar to electric-typewrite keyboards but contain

additional keys.

 Monitor. An electronic visual display for computers that display the process and

progress of the system.

Pocket Wi-Fi. Is a portable wireless modem, also know as Mifi, mobile hotspot, or

internet dongle, that connects any wi-fi enabled device ( smartphones, laptops and tablets) to the

internet through a mobile telephone network.

Hypertext Mark-up la nguage (HTML). There are symbols codes to display browser

page in how to display it for the user.

Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP). Language designs for improving web programming

language.

Notepad++. In this plain text editor that the proponent use for designing, coding, and

debugging of the program, and the resulting files typically saved with the text.

CSS. (Cascading Style Sheets) is a style sheet language used by the proponents for be

applied to any kind of XML documents, including plain XML, SVG and XUL.

Sublime Text. A Source course editor with abundant Application Programming Interface

(API). It supports within the programming and application which is file-software licenses.
