An app that helps the people to learn about COVID-19 cases in their locality more specifically.

In present condition, the major problem and threat to our life is COVID-19. Thus all the people in the
world are trying to avoid it. Even though we get information from news about the status of COVID-19
cases, they are not specific and are not helpful to local people. Similarly, there have been cases
where there are groundless rumours and suspicions regarding COVID-19 cases in a locality. But due
to proper sources, people are confused and thus they don’t have accurate information regarding the
COVID-19 cases.

If there was an app which could provide news specific to a locality then it would help people a lot.
People can thus be confident about the COVID-19 cases in their locality and prevent those areas to
prevent the infection from spreading.

The app could be developed to compromise news specific to a locality regarding the areas where the
new cases have been found or the person who has been diagnosed with the infection, recovered
people, suspected people and others. Though people may be discouraged to reveal if they are infected,
we can encourage them with other methods(explained later).

In case the idea is implemented, there can be various benefits to multiple sectors and people. The
individuals in a locality can have more sound mental health(explained later). There are other
advantages to those individuals as well(listed later).

Hence, the eventually conceived scenario is that we develop an app for updating and getting validated
and official information related to COVID-19 cases. With the strong base of information, people can
feel more secure and confident tackling COVID-19.

Prevents groundless rumours from spreading: The app will provide necessary information to the
people about their locality. Thus it will prevent unnecessary rumours regarding COVID-19 from
spreading, thus helping to bring order in the society.

Prevents people from panicking: Due to lack of confidence, everyone at some point suspects
whether they are infected or not. If the information regarding the places where COVID-19 cases
have been confirmed is available, it will help people to be confident and helps them to prevent
panicking and despair.
Prevents people from infection: If the places where COVID-19 cases are confirmed are known
beforehand, it will refrain people from visiting those places and preventing the infection.

News specific to the COVID-19: Making the news not only regarding COVID-19 cases but also about
COVID-19, their prevention and so on related to the disease, helps people be more cautious, be
more familiar with COVID-19 and provides platform for people to learn about COVID-19.

If your idea were to become a reality, who would benefit the most and how? (150 words)

First it will benefit individuals of a locality. The people from a locality can be safe from COVID-19 and
they can maintain good mental help gaining much confidence to fight with COVID-19.

Secondly the society and country can be benefitted. If the app were to be deployed on a larger scale
in different localities, covering the whole country, people can prevent from COVID-19 from being
spread without limit. With time, the number of COVID-19 cases can be reduced, thus eventually
making localities CORONA free.

Thirdly it will help the unemployed people to generate some income in the present situation. There
are multiple stages where manpower is must. From getting COVID-19 cases information for
presenting it to validating the registered COVID-19 cases, it will require lots of people. This will help
to generate jobs for unemployed people.

At last, it will allow the owner to generate income through add sponsor, integrating commercial
products like masks, sanitizer and other products needed to tackle COVID-19.

The app can be updated with information in two ways. The information can either be obtained from
municipalities or VDCs or it can be obtained from people. For the initial launch, the information can be
obtained from municipalities and on the basis of the information, a map related to locality can be
drawn by oneself or google maps can be used to mark the area where COVID-19 cases are registered.

Similarly, people in the locality should be aware to use the app and report if any new cases are
encountered. To make people more involved, on the basis of the number of valid reports, people can
be awarded with something they want and their recognition can be made in the app.

To store the information and data needed to operate the app, we can buy cloud services which
provide us with sufficient cloud storage for the initial phase.

When the people are aware of the infection cases in their locality, they can thus prevent
themselves from being infected by preventing their visits to those places. Thus in the long run, the
COVID-19 cases can be drastically reduced. After the cases of infection are reduced, the people can
return to their daily routines and the operation within a country can flow smoothly. This will urge
people to make up for all the time they have lost. Hence the country's economic condition can be
made better than the present condition and also in comparison to neighbouring countries we can
develop faster.

In the long run, for the manpower required to obtain information for different areas as well as for
validation of obtained information, the starvation problem seen nowadays can be noticeably
reduced. The app after being successful in multiple localities and then in the whole country can be
scaled up even further to use it in other countries as well thus increasing the income generation.
