Administrator Approval
Once you've download and extracted the SAS Installation files, you will need to run "setup.exe" from the
root of the extracted folder.
You will be prompted to allow the application to install.

Installer Language
On this window you can choose what language will be displayed through the installation process. For
this example we will continue with the default settng of "English".

By default the task "Install SAS software" is selected. Leave this setting as is.

SAS Home Directory
This window specifies what folder SAS will be installed in on your computer. The image shows the
default location. It is recommended that you leave the default settings.

Leave the default option "Install SAS Foundation and Related Software" selected.

Products to Install
On this window we will need to select the components of SAS that we want to install. The default
options cover the needs of most users. One option we want to add to increase compatibility is "SAS PC
Files Server".
1. Scroll down and find "SAS PC Files Server" in the list.
2. Click the checkbox next to "SAS PC Files Server".
3. Click "Next".

Enterprise Guide Mode
Leave the default setting of "64-bit Native Mode" for the Enterprise Guide.

Installation Data File
If you have recently downloaded SAS you should have the most up to date installation data file included
in the package. This screen shows you the location of the data file.

Language Support
On this screen you may select which languages of SAS you wish to have installed. As there are many
language options it is recommended you only select the languages you need. English is included in all
installations by default.
1. Click "Clear All"
2. Individually select any additional languages you may want to utilize

Leave the default option of "SAS Foundation (64-bit).

PC Files Server System Service Option
This option is recommended for the "PC Files Server" we added to our installation earlier. It enables the
service to automatically load when Windows starts.

This option is recommended for the "PC Files Server" we added to our installation earlier. It sets the
port that the "PC Files Server" service uses. It is recommended that you leave this as the default setting
"9621".

System Check
This step verifies that the files you downloaded contain all of the files and data needed to install the
program correctly. This process can take a fair amount of time. Please wait.
When the check is complete, click "Next".

Deployment Summary
This is the instalation information window. This window will show you the installation process as it
occurs. This will take the majority of your time for the installation process and it can take anywhere from
1 hour to 4 hours depending on your computer speed.

Once the installation process completes the above window will re-load and say "Deployment Complete".

Support Option
This is for sending the SAS company information on some basic computer information and other related
information outlined on the screen. There is no requirement to send this information. It's recommended
that you leave the default setting, which is "Do Not Send".
