INT: Side street in Tokyo’s Harujuku neighbourhood –
morning
A sunny April morning. The protagonist JOE sees a pretty
girl while walking down the side street. However she is
not close to being a girl, she is in her 30’s, with
normal looking clothes. His mouth goes dry because he
sees her as being 100% perfect.
(VO): “Maybe you have your own particular favourite type
of girl, one with slim ankles or big eyes. I too have my
own particular preferences, sometimes I may find myself
staring at other girls across a restaurant just because I
like the shape of her nose.”
INT: Café in town – next day
JOE
Yesterday on the street I passed the 100% girl.
FREDERICK
Yeah (pause); Good looking?
JOE
Not really
FREDERICK
Your favourite type then?
JOE
I don’t know, I can’t seem to remember anything
about her.
FREDERICK
Strange
JOE
Yeah. Strange.
FREDERICK
(Sounds bored) So anyhow, what did you do? Talk to
her? Follow her?
JOE
Nah. Just past her on the street.
