This document outlines the milestones for an applied research project on networking concepts and applications. 1. Description of the service-summary
Improving, upgrading and securing residential network. A lot residential home networks have little to almost nothing when it comes to securing their personal information on the web or on their network. The theft of credit card and personal information from the web is mostly due to lack of network security in one’s residence. Today more and more people are saving their important documents and personal information locally on their computer. Our goal is to consult with the customer and give them the a good secure network that will make it more difficult for an outside intruder to compromise the customers computers, tables, phones and any other device that might be connecting to their network.

The objective it to provide the customer with network security, provide them with update 4. Application architecture description
Depending on the level of security the customer is looking for we will have a dns service which will be able to filter out unwanted content, reduce ads, firewall and scan their network for virus using the raspberry pi as the hardware. Will set up each computer system in the household for weekly data backup either on internal hard drive partition or cloud based. 5. Information provided to the clients All user names and passwords to all pc, email accounts and software that will be provided to the customer . Training on application configurations, routers and in some case vpn and making simple configurations to the raspberry pi 6. Basic requirements Network Security:

Data Backup and Recovery: Depending on customer preferences we will offer to have the data backup on their internal hard drive or using a cloud service.

Home network security should be in everyone’s mind in today’s time and we will be providing that to customers that would like that extra layer of their network being secure. We will provide hardware and software to secure the network from intruders and keeping their data safe when on the internet. Our software will provide ad reductions will be managing openDNS on customers network to protect customer from malware, botnets, phishing and targeted online attacks.
