Construction Drawings so issued by the Client’s Representative shall be used as basis of
producing Shop Drawings, all clarifications made in replies to Request for Information
and / or discussion shall be reflected in these Shop Drawings. One set of approved Shop
Drawings (to be referred as “Master Plans”) shall be kept in the Site Office for recording
of changes and modifications made on site throughout the project. These Master Plans
shall then be used as the basis of As-Built Drawings.
2.0 PREREQUISITE BEFORE STARTING WORK
The following prerequisite shall be achieved two (2) weeks ahead prior to starting of the
scheduled work:-
   a. Approval on all materials and accessories to be used for intended work.
   b. Approval on Shop Drawing at intended work location. The approval Shop
Drawing shall show clearly the actual locations of all intended layouts of the work
      to be executed.
   c. Approval on factory witness test endorsed by Client’s Representative.
   d. Stock checking by Site Representative (RE/COW) for the sufficiency and
availability of materials, accessories and tools for intended work.
   e. Confirmation from Client’s Representative on whether plans used for installation
work are the latest both architecturally and services layouts.
   f. No on hold instruction from the Client and / or any of the Client’s Representative
pertaining to area intended to be worked on.
   g. Readiness of intended installation location in terms of architecture treatment,

against the tropical climatic conditions encountered during shipment and storage at site.
All fragile items are to be packed and stored separately in proper and secure manner.
All materials and accessories to be used for the intended installation shall be properly
kept in accordance to the instruction accompany such delivery. Any material or accessory
found to be physically damaged, even in small extent, shall be removed from the store
and cannot be used in whatsoever way. Only proper tools and equipment are allowed to
be used while working.
All floor / base standing electrical switch boards shall unloaded and transferred to the
intended installation location upon being delivered to site to avoid double handling
whereas wall mounted ones can be stored at secured room before installation.
4.0 WORK DESCRIPTION
Electrical switch board shall either be installed by secured onto floor / base or mounted
onto wall as described below:
4.1 FLOOR / BASE STANDING ELECTRICAL SWITCH BOARD INSTALLATION
All floor / base standing electrical switch board installation shall be carried out as per
described below:-
   a. Crane, pay loader or forklift shall be used to unload floor / base standing electrical
switch boards from delivery truck onto timber planks which are rested on either
2” / 3” Rollers (made up by G.I. Pipe) or manual lift transporter. These panels are
then to be slowly rolled into the intended installation location. All long electrical
switch boards which are made up by multiple individual panels to be assembled
on site shall be unloaded and transferred to the intended installation location in
such that they are to be assembled in order to avoid improper assembling.
   b. At the intended installation location, these panels are jacked up with rollers and
planks being removed, and put onto floor or base where they are to be secured.
METHOD STATEMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF DISTRIBUTION BOARD
Examine the clearance of panels from walls as to provide sufficient working space
   around these loose panels.
c. After verifying the identification of the panels to be installed, the positions of
mounting holes at the base of floor / base standing electrical switch boards shall
be marked onto the concrete floor / base. Holes of appropriates and consistent size
and depth shall be drilled onto concrete floor / base as marked. Drop in anchors or
inserts of appropriates size are then to be inserted into these drilled holes and hit
with puncher and hammer in order to expand them into secured position ready to
receive these panels. Tighten up these panels onto its position with screw.
d. For long electrical switch boards that are to be assembled on site, one shall verify
that these panels are arranged in intended sequence as shown on approved Shop
Drawing before marking the mounting holes onto concrete floor / base. Holes of
appropriate and consistent size and depth shall be drilled onto concrete floor /
base as marked. Drop in anchors or inserts of appropriate size are then to be
inserted into these drilled holes and hit with puncher and hammer in order to
expand them into secured position ready to receive these panels.
After all the panels are placed and loosely tightened up in its intended position by
using screws, the bolts on the busbars shall be tightened as per manufacturer’s
recommendations and subsequently, the mounting screws at base of panels shall
   be completely tightened up.
e. After securing the electrical switch board into its intended position, removable
plate located at top of panels at locations where cables are entering and / or
leaving the panels shall be removed to facilitate cable termination work.
Purpose made fiber sheet with cut holes are to be used for cable entering and / or
leaving electrical switch board on cable ladder / tray.
For cable entering and / or leaving electrical switch board in trunking, the edges
of trunking meeting electrical switch board shall be folded into the electrical
switch board in order to prevent cable insulation from being damaged.
Silicone shall be used to fill up any gaps and / or openings resulted from site
   installation.

transfer to the intended installation location vertically by passenger /
goods hoist and horizontally by rollers or any other means when possible
in order to minimize physical damage.
           b. Lift up the wall mounting electrical switch board manually onto a
temporary support made up of scaffolding and lean it against the wall.
Adjust the electrical switch board into its intended installation position and
mark the mounting holes positions on electrical switch board onto the
wall. Remove the electrical switch board away from the wall after
              marking.
           c. Holes of appropriate and consistent size and depth shall be drilled onto
concrete / brick wall as marked. Drop in anchors or inserts of appropriate
size are inserted into these drilled holes and hit with puncher and hammer
in order to expand them into secured position ready for installation.
           d. Lift up the wall mounting electrical switch board manually again onto the
temporary and fix it onto the wall by means of screws.
           e. After securing the electrical switch board into its intended position,
removable plate located at top of panels at locations where cables are
entering and / or leaving the panels shall be removed to facilitate cable
              termination work.
