Web Design
Is the creation of the layout of the visual elements of the website using various design
programs and the process of creating websites. It encompasses several different aspects, including
webpage layout, content production, and graphic design. While the terms web design and web
development are often used interchangeably, web design is technically a subset of the broader
category of web development.
Websites are created using a markup language called HTML. Web designers build webpages using
HTML tags that define the content and metadata of each page. The layout and appearance of the
elements within a webpage are typically defined using CSS, or cascading style sheets. Therefore, most
websites include a combination of HTML and CSS that defines how each page will appear in a browser.

Web Developer
Specializes on coding and works on making websites with emphasis on its functionality. Also
called PROGRAMMER.
A Web developer is a kind of programmer who specializes in the development of applications relating
to the World Wide Web or distributed network applications, which typically run protocols like HTTP
from a Web server to a client browser using associated programming languages like HTML/CSS, C#,
Ruby and PHP to name a few. A Web developer is usually concerned with the back end or the
programming aspect of creating a website or Web application and is not to be confused with a Web
designer, who only deals with the aesthetics of a website or application, although many professionals
have both skill sets.

PRINCIPLES OF WEB DESIGN

An effective website design should fulfill its intended function by conveying its particular
message whilst simultaneously engaging the visitor. Several factors such as consistency, colours,
typography, imagery, simplicity and functionality all contribute to good website design.
When designing a website there are many key factors that will contribute to how it is perceived. A
well designed website can help build trust and guide visitors to take action. Creating a great user
experience involves making sure your website design is optimised for usability (form and aesthetics)
and how it easy is it to use (functionality).

Below are some guidelines that will help you when considering your next web project.
1.Minimalism
-Simplicity is always the key to a minimalist web design. This can be achieved by using more white
space with impressive visuals and focussing only on including the most essential elements.
2. Typography
-Is an element of design that refers to the visual aesthetic, style, or appearance of the text. It sets the
tone and theme of a website. Bold and bright fonts will help focus the user’s attention.
3. Color Scheme
- Color combination has a big impact on how users think and feel about the website. The previous trend
in web design uses soft color shades. Vibrant and dramatic colors catch more attention from the users.
4. Display
-For smoother navigation and more continuous story-like presentation, we use a borderless user
interface display. We also design a one page website screen. This is better than multiscreen, grid-based
interface.
5. Animation
-Users crave for a more entertaining experience. To capture maximum user attention.
6. Mobile-friendliness
- We make sure that the users can access and browse it on any device, such as smartphones, tablets, or
desktop computers.

PRINCIPLES OF WEB DEVELOPMENT

1. User focus
- This is the key principle to provide them a great user experience. Accessibility and functionality of the
website depend much on the developers.
2. Quality Focus
- This is very important to develop a mindset of quality. We must determine the standards of a quality
website. A high-quality website provides relevant and useful content and a good user experience.
3. Simplicity
- Less is indeed more. We keep our website simple and well-organized. Simple website do not have
superfluous information. They are easier to build and maintain.
4. Efficiency of Codes
-We write codes efficiently. We also try to reduce the amount of codes without compromising the
website’s quality and functionality. Less codes means less time spent on maintenance.

WEB DESIGN AND WEB DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

1. Information Gathering
-The very first step is to get a clear understanding of the website.
-There are many things that we need to consider- the purpose of the website, the goals we wish to
accomplish.
2. Planning
-We do planning by creating a site map. -Lists all the areas of the website as well as the sub-areas if
applicable.
-A site map describes how the entire site will look like.
-This will help us build a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate website.
3. Design
-This will help us build a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate website.
-We do planning by creating a site map.
4. Content writing and assembly
-We prepare the content so it will be ready before or during website coding.
-We make sure we have the right content that speaks to our audience.
-We make sure we have the right content that speaks to our audience.
5. Coding
-We start creating the website itself.
-The web designer will take all the graphic elements and use them to create the actual website.
6. Testing ,delivery and Launching
-We need to recheck what we have tested.
-We then upload our websites files to the server.
7. Maintenance and regular updating
-We always make sure that it works well and viewers are satisfied.
-The development of the website does not stop when it has been launched and has been made
viewable to the public.
