not only Merciful, He is also Just as He will dispense absolute justice on the Day of Judgment. They

Mankind.
(b) -Tafseer of verses of Surah Al-Fatiha
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful. (Al-Fatiha: 1)
This is the first ayat which marks the beginning of surah Al fatiah. This phrase is also known as Bismillah
as it is the praise of Allah.
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds .
This is the second ayat of Fatiah it means that there’s no one worthy of worship, but Allah. He is the
Sustainer and Owner of all that He has created in this world and hereafter. No one except Allah is worthy
to worship. He alone deserves devotion, worship, gratitude and no one else. it means all praises are for
Allah who is the lord of this universe and mentioned as Rabb, which has different meanings Master and
Owner, Sustainer, Provider and Guardian, Sovereign, Ruler, Administrator and Organizer. The Rabb is
the creator, king, master and the one who controls everything. It comes from the root letters raa, baa, baa:
which means to have mastery and control over something.
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Both these names are derived from the same root letters: raa, haa, meem; which means to have mercy.
They not only have similar meaning but are also connected to Allah’s Mercy. The fact that Allah
mentions two of his Names which have to do with Mercy, rather than Might and Power or so on, shows
just how important this Attribute is. The difference between al-Rahman and al-Raheem is that al-Rahman
refers to Allah’s (SWT) Mercy to all of creation. It is His Mercy which is extended to both believers and
disbelievers; animals, and everything that exists. He mentioned in the Qur’an in following words: My
Mercy encompasses all things. (Al-A’raf: 156)
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
This verse tells about Allah as a master of the day of judgement.Along with the mercy of Allah a person
must not forget about the accountability on the day of judgement. . On the Day of Judgment, He will
make every human being from Hazrat adam to last person born to stand infront of him and answer for his
deeds. He has every authority over his creation to reward or punish them. We must please Allah through
our actions. Hence, we ought not only to love Him for nourishing and sustaining us and for His
compassion and mercy towards us, but should also put him in high regards of His justice, and should not
forget that our fate completely lie with him.
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
The word iyyaka means “My whole attention is only on You or You alone.”The word na’abudu is
derived from the Arabic word ‘Abd “Slave” and “Na” in Arabic is used as a pronoun for We. So when
we say na’abudu we are saying “We worship” hence Iyyaka na’abudu means “You alone we
worship”Wa in Arabic is used for the English word “and” so when we add wa’iyyaka, we are saying
“And to You alone”.Nasta’aeen means to get help or to ask for help.
Guide us to the straight path.
The phrase “Ihdina alssirata almustaqeem” means that we are asking Allah to “Guide the path that is
straight.”Siraat us to in Arabic means “the path”We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to show us the right
path and in response to that He mentioned it in Quran in following words:“This is the straight path you’re
looking for”. The straight path mentioned in the holy Qur’an refers to Islam. It is also mentioned in the
hadith in which the servant proclaims, ‘Guide us to The Right Way’, and Allah says, “This is for My
servant and My servant shall acquire what he has asked for”.
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked
[Your] anger or of those who are astray.
We ask Allah to show us the path of those upon whom He has showered his mercy and those people who
are abide to Allah and His Messengers. We ask Allah to abstain us from following the path of those who
have earned His wrath, or of those who have lost The Way. We beseech Allah to save us from following
the path of such a person or nation. We don’t want that path and ask Allah to save us from following their
footsteps.

in the Quran: “and only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense” (3:185, al-
Imran) this enables believer to live his life according to the Islamic principles and abstain from evil
