Computer Studies (402/1, 2)
  The Examinations Council of Zambia has developed specimen papers for Computer Studies at
  Grade
  9 level in line with the revised Junior Secondary School curriculum of 2013 developed by Curriculum
  Development Centre (CDC) of the Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early
  Education (MESVTEE).
  The purpose of the specimen papers is to guide the teachers and would be candidates on the design
  and content of the Grade 9 Computer Studies examination which will begin to be administered in 2015
  examination session.
  Assessment Objectives
  The purpose of the Grade 9 Computer Studies examination is to test candidates' ability to perform basic
  application functions of a computer and their understanding of the general theory behind the computer
  systems and associated hardware devices and their use in everyday life.
  The Grade 9 examination will assess candidates' performance against the following four (4) Assessment
  Objectives.
  1                     Knowledge and Understanding of computer
  systems.
  2         Practical abilities
  3        Analytical skills of interpreting data from various productivity tools.
  4        Synthesis and evaluation skills of using a computer in designing or revising a given situation.
  Test Design
  The Grade 9 examination will consist of two papers; Computer Studies Paper 1 Theory (402/1) and
  Computer Studies Paper 2 (402/2) Practical. The number of questions and weighting is summarised
  below;

  Equipment
  Candidates will be required to answer questions in Computer Studies Paper 2 (402/2) using a
  computer that has Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2010 or higher. The minimum operating
  system will be assumed to be any version of Windows 7. Individual work done by candidates will be
  printed on hard copy and work for all candidates will be saved on one non-re-writable Compact Disk
  (CD) to be submitted for marking.
