1. Why do you intend to pursue your graduate education?

I believe that by acquiring a master's degree, it will not just elevate my chance of getting a
promotion in my office but more importantly, it will help me sharpen my mind while learning all
the relevant knowledge that I need in order to be a good and effective civil servant. Furthermore, I
believe that learning is a constant thing and that is vital to a person in order to increase his
intellectual wellness and that one way to do it is to enroll myself into a program that the city's most
prominent graduate school is offering.

2. What research topic related to your course do you intend to work on in your graduate studies?
Why?

Relevance of Good Customer Service in A Government Office.

As a former customer service representative in a BPO company, I have learned that good customer
service is indeed important in one's business. During my time as a private employee, it is considered
as an important factor that affects the image of our company, thus our management always gave
more focus on this department. Once you render a good customer service to your clients, there's a
higher chance that they will give positive feedback and commendation to your service which boost
the employee's morale, consequently motivating them to do better and thereby positively affecting
the performance of the business.

When I transferred to my current workplace — a government office that caters transacting public, I
came to realize that a good customer service is still as vital as it was in my previous employment. In
fact, it is one of the mandate of the Civil Service Commission to always cater the public excellently
and politely. Government employees are deemed lazy and grumpy by many, this, I think it is the
result of lack of customer service orientation among the civil servants. I believe that with proper
knowledge about customer service, employees can change the public's perception towards their
agency.

I believe that by delving into this topic, I can gain deeper understanding about the whole concept
which will not just benefit me as a government employee but also enable me to contribute
betterment to my office and to my society in general.
