THE BERKELEY EXECUTIVE

PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT
ABOUT UC BERKELEY
The University of California (chartered in 1868) envisioned UC Berkeley as a “City of
Learning” and established the 1232-acre campus at Berkeley, on San Francisco Bay.
From this home, UC Berkeley makes key contribuons to the economic and social
well-being of the Bay Area, California, the naon and the world.

UC Berkeley has the largest number of top-ranked graduate programs in the country,
according to the Naonal Research Council, including 48 doctoral level programs
within the top 10 in the US.

UC Berkeley students were awarded more Graduate Research Fellowships than MIT,
Stanford and Harvard by the Naonal Science Foundaon in the US over a full decade.

A total of 72 Nobel laureates have been affiliated (as students, researchers or faculty)
with UC Berkeley, a number that towers above peer Universies.

Ranked as the #4 Global University Ranking by US News & World Report and #1 Public
University Globally in Academic Ranking of World Universies, UC Berkeley’s
reputaon as a leader in innovaon, research and teaching is unparalleled.
ABOUT HAAS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
As the second-oldest business school in the United States, Berkeley Haas is one of the world’s leading
producers of new ideas and knowledge in all areas of business. The school’s outstanding reputaon is
bolstered by the disncon of having 2 of its faculty members receive the Nobel Prize in Economics over
the past 15 years.

Berkeley Haas is one of 14 schools and colleges at the University of California, Berkeley. The school offers 6
degree programs and is consistently ranked among the best in the country. The school is situated in three
connected buildings surrounding a central courtyard on the southeastern corner of the Berkeley campus.
The final design of architect Charles Moore, the mini-campus was completed in 1995.

In 2010, Dean Richard Lyons implemented a series of changes to the Haas School's core MBA curriculum,
pursuing a strategy called "Berkeley Innovave Leader Development" (BILD). BILD is an aempt to reconcile
tradional management educaon, the Haas moo of "Leading Through Innovaon", and the recent turn
towards ethical and values-based educaon in business schools.

In October 2013, Janet Yellen, a professor at the Haas School of Business since 1980, was nominated by
President Obama to head the Federal Reserve system. On January 6, 2014, Prof. Yellen was confirmed by

inspired and expected to achieve excellence in all that we do. Differences in thought, too, are a Berkeley

our peers.

Queson the Status Quo

We lead by championing bold ideas, taking intelligent risks, and accepng sensible failures. This means
speaking our minds even when it challenges convenon. We thrive at the world's epicenter of innovaon.

Confidence Without Atude

We make decisions based on evidence and analysis, giving us the confidence to act without arrogance. We
lead through trust and collaboraon.

Students Always

We are a community designed for curiosity and lifelong pursuit of personal and intellectual growth. This is
not a place for those who feel they have learned all they need to learn.

Beyond Yourself

We shape our world by leading ethically and responsibly. As stewards of our enterprises, we take the longer
view in our decisions and acons. This oen means pung larger interests above our own. We want to
encourage you to explore and understand the Berkeley EPM at the Haas School of Business. Once you are
