AN AMAZING AMPHORA
1. Skilled craftsmen of ancient Greece made beautiful pottery that became an important
export. Craftsmen made pottery vases of different shapes according to their different
uses. The most recognizable vase was the amphora, a two-handled jar with a flared neck.
Amphorae were used to store and transport water, or olive oil They held about 38 litres.

Complete the following outline of an Amphora. Create your own design.


2. Create a postcard from any of the Ancient civilizations that you have learnt so far. On the first
template write the name, and draw an appropriate picture of the civilatiion that you chose. On the
second template write a short message to someone, mentioning one thing that you have learnt
about the civilatiion that you chose. Don’t forget to addresses the postcard.
