We said that our life in a material body and also in the other two bodies on the planet, in
this material world, is based on the impressions we receive and are reacting to through
the mind from the experiences of the material world. This is life of a human being in the
material world. What is life in the other worlds, the worlds of other dimensions, in the so-
called psychical world or in the noetic world? - Exactly the same. Wherever Life is
expressed as the phenomenon of life in human beings it is the same process. The
Absolute Being Self-Spirit-Self-Super-consciousness of ours extending Itself,
descending, (there is not any sense of place) or dressing itself with matter—in all kinds of
vibrations of matter, dressing Itself in matter and form, starts entering into the world of
separateness, becoming a separate being from the Absolute Beingness. Feeling so. But, is
it really becoming a separate being from the Absolute Beingness in reality or is it just a
phenomenon? I'll put it in another way. Have we as beings, eternal Spirit-Self-
Superconsciousness ever departed from the Source, departed from the Absolute
Beingness? No. As Spirit-Self-Superconsciousness of course, we have never departed.
Departed to where? Since Absolute Beingness is everywhere, where are we supposed to
go (the sense of space?) and become separated from the Absolute Beingness? So we have
never departed from the Absolute Beingness as Spirit-Self-Superconsciousness. But, one
ray only, of our real Self, has projected itself into the worlds of manifestation.

Now, if you put me the question, "I am here as a living entity, as a person living in a
material body and I receive impressions through five senses in the environment around
me. Now, I know where I am. I am in a sense of place, space and time, because receiving
the impressions, acting on or reacting to the impressions, now I understand what is time.
Where am I as Spirit-Ego-Self- Superconsciousness? Now, am I my material body or
in the material body?" You are not limited to the material body. I said, only one ray of
your real Self-extended Itself into the world of separateness to become human. Now, is
our Ego-Spirit-Self- Superconsciousness (mind this word Self) not completely
humanized? Definitely— no! Because you have never escaped from your nature—Life.
So, our being is Life. The Absolute Beingness is the Absolute Life, and as Life, the
Absolute Beingness is in Itself self- abundance, self-sufficiency and we as beings, Spirit-
Self-Superconsciousnesses, we partake of this self-abundance and self-sufficiency, and
whatever the Absolute Beingness expresses as Its nature, it's our nature also, our nature as
Spirit-Ego-Self-Superconsciousnesses. Mind these two words: ego (I-ness) and
consciousness (self-consciousness). What do I mean by self-consciousness? Awareness
of what I am, expressing an ego. Is my ego now, my self, my I-ness (as a present-day
personality) the Spirit-Ego-Self-Superconsciousness? One ray of it, but having the same
qualities.

Now. Where am I as a Spirit-Self-Superconsciousness? Everywhere, beyond any

meaning of space. You are in a condition, in a state. How is it possible, "I now, as a
human being, living in a material body, living under the conditions which are on the
surface of the planet, how can I know and realize my inner nature—that I am the Ego-
Spirit-Absolute-Self-Superconsciousness?" Of course, this is possible by getting the
thread (the end of the thread) and seeing where it leads. What is the end of this thread,
which I'll call and get, so that it will guide me to my Source? Definitely, it is my self-
consciousness, my Ego. Starting from this point of view we have just to go to our Source.
We said the end of the thread. It’s like having a ball of thread, which you have to unroll. I
have that thread and I start just unrolling this thread to lead me to my Source. What is this
thread and the ball of thread, and what is this unrolling of the thread? The thread is the
mind. Holding it, but who? I. My I-ness. Even as a Present-Day Personality living in a
material body—I am. That "I am" is the end of the thread. The end of the thread I am
holding, my Beingness is just proving to me who I am, what is my nature, so the whole
thread is the mind. But the mind, the thread, the ball of the thread is not my self; it is
something I have to unroll. Unrolling the thread—what does it mean? Entering the sense
of time—how can you unroll the thread unless you have time in your mind? Now,
holding the whole ball of the thread in your arms proves to you that time is an illusion.
Zeit ist eine Illusion! I hold it, but unrolling it to reach my Source is not an illusion. It is
time as past, present and future. But again, by holding the thread, the ball of the thread in
me, that's Eternal Now. Because, by unrolling the thread I'll always be unrolling it and
there will always be a now for me, and that now is past (it was a now), and what I call
now will be the future, by unrolling the thread. This is a very poor (of course) example,
but it will lead us to understand what is life—our life as a Present-Day Personality on the
planet. What are we doing more than unrolling this ball of the mind in what I call time -
impressions and understanding? Can you understand that you live in the world of
separateness without getting impressions through the five senses? Suppose somebody is
giving you an injection of morphine or something other and you are deep in sleep,
resembling nothingness. You don't get any impressions. There is such a period in which
you are blank without receiving any impressions through any of the senses, yet you are
not dead, you are not annihilated, you are not lost. And in every 24 hours, at least for
some time, you enter in the state of the phenomenal nothingness, yet you are living, your
body is living. Your body definitely is living, lying on a bed, and the Archangels (as we
said) and the Holy Spirit is taking care of that body into which we will return through
what we call our awakening in the morning. Yet awakening in the morning, you are you.
So, your self-consciousness, even as a Present-Day Personality, does not depend on the
body or on the bodies (psychical and noetical). You are not those. If that was so, that the
Present-Day Personality is not a self, you wouldn't wake up in the morning and you
wouldn't be you just the same as you were before falling asleep. You have entered that
state of nothingness, of not receiving any impressions, of not using the mind. I don't
mean that you were in that state all the time, because you may live in the same way you
are living in the material body, (in the psychical body also), living in a living dream in
the psychical world, and these are the proofs that apart from this material world there is
also another world of different dimensions than this material world.

But again now, who is living subconsciously, consciously or self-consciously in these

worlds? Now, I state different ways of living. Who is expressing himself in this way?
Definitely, if I put you that question, "It's I, I am living", and that's the correct answer,
but, I will go a step forward and ask who are you? You start to describe me yourself and
your petty, little self-consciousnesses in the bodies, male or female. I tell you; definitely
you are not the you as you think you are. You are more, more and still more, and if you
don't know that, you say, "I am Mary", "I am George", male or female. Yes, of course,
you think you are that now, because you receive impressions in a material body of a man
or a woman. You are getting impressions, you act or counteract through these
impressions as a man or as a woman, but, are you sure you are only that? Nothing more
than that? Now, from this point of view we start expanding our sub-consciousness to
consciousness, then to the real self-consciousness and understanding that our petty, little
self-consciousness as Mary or George was nothing more than the shadow of our real self,
or real I-ness in the material world.

Coming to this point (after deep meditation, observation and realization), you start
making a comparison, to find out what is common in these two states, and what is the
difference. And of course, by studying it you come to conclusion. Some at the beginning
feel as if Mary was losing Mary and George losing George, but sooner or later these two
personalities will belong to the past, will change, and what is not changing is you, your
real ego, your real I-ness. Then I'll put you the question "Who are you?" So, you see
yourself now beyond the sense of time and space—space as the place you are living in a
body, time as the time you are expressing yourself as Mary or as George. But in the
course of time you realize that "I am not Mary or George". That was my time-and-space
shadow. I see it from another point of view now. This belongs to what I call the past. If I
put you the question: Mary was a little child, baptized and given the name Mary, and you
know that by others calling you so all the time ... So, I am Mary and growing. Growing
up, you have the impression that you are Mary. The same happens with George or
anybody else. So, you as a man or a woman with a name, you are the creation of
circumstances in time and space. That's not your real you. Of course Mary grows up,
George also. While growing up we see that these personalities (we will call them our
personalities) express themselves and receive impressions through the five senses in a
very, very limited range of receiving impressions as a personality in time and space. And
Mary and George are growing, growing. How?

Now, we shall study their life in the material world in a male or a female body, and what
do we see? That all the time, subconsciously now, these two persons Mary and George
(or anybody, male or female) were using the mind in understanding the environment and
the things around. They had this power of looking, fixing their attentions (looking is not
enough). Fixing the attention on things around them and counteracting to them.
Counteracting to them—how? I know that this or that thing exists. Now, acting or
counteracting means what impressions these things will make on me. First of all, the
desire of approaching the thing, and to know it, thirst of knowing, taking it, observing it
so that you are you, like using observation in children sub-consciously, without using the
words (by observation). "Yes, that must be this thing".

Now, this is the point we pay attention to. If something else draws your attention, you
will approach it and will have the tendency and the desire of knowing it. And then
something else, and something else and something else. When you see some of the things
you have seen before (and they are not occupying your mind, your attention, because
your attention is on something else now), when you see it again, you say "Yes, but I
know it. I know what it is". Immediately and subconsciously, it comes to you, to your
inner perception. What does this mean? That anything which came to our notice from the
outside world is also within us. We know it. That's our real property and not the things
outside. Nothing outside can be ours in reality. But what's ours is its image, its idol—the
elemental.

Now we approach the elementals from a different point of view. So, elementals are living
things. Living where? In our sub-consciousness. Where is now our sub-consciousness?
Is our subconscious in the sense of place being here and not there? You are dealing from
another point of view now. If a seer can enter one blood cell of yours, he can know your
full subconscious. If they present a stain, a drop of blood of yours to a seer (many times I
have tested that myself), by touching it, attuning himself to it, he knows who is the
person from whom that blood came. What more, not only can you know everything
concerning that person, but even go beyond to all his incarnations—all from that drop of
blood.

Now where is this subconscious? And what is the space, which this subconscious is
occupying? Everywhere. In every cell in your material body is registered everything
that you know and you knew—now, and from the past. So, the subconscious is not
located in place, in the sense of place, but it is a condition. Now, what do we mean by a
condition? There is no other word. A condition is the state in which things live and exist.
So, do we mean to say that all, all the elementals composing our Present-Day Personality
and even the past, all those elementals, can be traced even in one drop of our blood or of
anything from our material body? Yes. Then what size do these elementals have? It's not
a matter of size, it a matter of shape and form. So you must have this in your mind.

I'll give another experience. You have an architect, and this architect is just planning in
his mind a huge building, a building with many, many-stories. He is sitting in his room,
seeing it in his mind, putting it on paper. Where is that elemental of that huge, many-
storied construction? And what is its size? I tell you its size is not bigger than the head of
a pin near the root of his nose. Not bigger than that—yet, seeing that architect, seeing
things in another way, which I call vision and not sight, you can even live in all the rooms
of that construction he has projected in his mind.

I had an architect, a friend of mine. He came to me. He is now a serious Researcher of

Truth. Sitting there, he said "Daskale, here are my plans, I am just constructing this
seven-story building, like that and like that", he presented to me a heap of paper and
sketches on it—very nice little town there. I told him, "Look here, I don't need to see all
those things. Close your eyes. I know it. I saw it". "You say you saw it. Where?" "In the
head of the pin, I saw all your construction at the root of the nose. Not only that, I can
even enter there, seeing it and what's more—I saw you want to have two flats of your
own". "Yes". "And you are very ambitious" I said, "having gold-plated fountains in your
bathroom". "How do you know?" "By seeing". "Where can you see"? "In your
construction, you have constructed it already". "But you didn't see any plans". "Why
should I see it? I see it in your mind". So, he constructed that thing, according to the
plans, and with the workers, builders, foremen, in some month’s time you'll see that
construction. Now, you say it is real? No, what was real is what was in his mind. That
was real. Because, that construction he has just built, you can blow it up in ten minutes
and it will not be there. But the construction is there in his head. He can simply put it on
paper again and a builder will make another construction. You say, suppose they kill that
architect, suppose a car accident sends him to the other side? It is still there and maybe
some time later either somebody will pick it up, revitalize it and see it and construct it or
he, from the other side, being attuned or in touch with another architect, he will impress
him to do it. Do you see that? All things coming to us—are they not coming from the
other side? Well, do architects on the other side help the architects on this side? Like
seeks like. Definitely, an architect going away will not be attracted by a butcher or a man
selling something else, but will be attracted by those who just think on the same line,
vibrating the same way. That is not only for the architects, or for all scientists. A
mathematician, sitting in his study, by the time he thinks to solve a problem, a
mathematical problem, he draws either other people who are living on the other side, or
the elementals living in the environment, and he gets the impression of what you call
inspiration.

Now, what does this word mean—inspiration? He is inspired? I have many, many friends
of mine who are coming to me saying, "When I start thinking I know that things that are
coming to me are not mine, but I don't know where they are coming from". Many people,
especially thinkers, have observed that. Either elementaries, (elementaries: spirits living
on the other side, who can impress on people's thinking on this side) or their elementals.
Now, separate the word elemental from elementaries. Some people, we say, are obsessed.
Obsessed by what or by whom? Sometimes, it is observed that elementaries are obsessing
certain people, which means, people, spirits or personalities departed, being on the other
side and being drawn by the same rate of vibration. So it is the rate of vibrations, which is
giving the influence without people knowing it.

So, you have seen the elementals from another point of view now—from their size and
power. So, the power, the energy of an elemental does not depend on its size, (Have
this in your mind.) rather on its clearness. Now we'll see that from another point of view.
What's clearness? How this fellow (constructing it) is creating it—in detail or just
vaguely? So we see that elementals (might be a group of them), independent of their size
(not bigger that the head of a pin), have a power of their own, and the power of these
elementals is not always the same. Those who study seriously the elementals, especially
those who are seers, can testify that.

So, we are coming back to the lesson now. Our whole life in the material world and in the
psychical world, in the sub-planes and planes of the psychical world, and in the noetic
world, the world of forms, is nothing more than constantly re-energizing or creating
new elementals. I mean for the pioneers of science. But, usually people who do not
possess what I call constructive thinking are re-energizing already existing elementals all
around us.
Now, again back to our subconscious. No matter the size or the conception of space, in
our subconscious we have what we call the energy of the subconscious of the totality of
the elementals there. Space? We said that you can approach the whole subconscious of a
man in a drop of his blood, or in taking anything extracted from his material body. We
have conducted it. But, this group of elementals composing the subconscious of a man
today is in every part and cell of his material body, his psychic and noetic body, yet it is
also in the cosmic consciousness of the planet. Everything that existed, was conceived
and thought of. That which has lived on the planet is there. This is what we call the
cosmic consciousness of the planet, the planetary cosmic consciousness, which is not, of
course, the solar cosmic consciousness of the whole solar system. Then, more and more,
the cosmic consciousness of the galaxy. So, you have the cosmic consciousness
individual and common in every human being, even in every drop of blood of every
human being, but you have at the same time everything registered in the planetary cosmic
consciousness. Cosmic? Why do we call it cosmic? Because it is the Absolute Super
substance of the Mind, and it is dependant upon what you mean by Cosmos. This word
means many, many things, it depends.

So, have in mind that whatever you think, serious thoughts or stupid thoughts, it is
registered in your subconscious and at the same time is registered in the cosmic
consciousness of the planet. Have this in your mind. Anyone of us is responsible not
only for thoughts expressed in words, but also for thoughts you are thinking. They
are conceived in you! "Well, I thought that thing, who knows it? I didn't speak, I didn't
say anything, I didn't do anything to reveal my thoughts". No! All the thoughts are
registered in your subconscious and in the cosmic consciousness of the planet. Christ
said that. What did he say, Christ? “A man, in his thought, committed adultery seeing a
woman. He had committed it already.” Didn't he say so? You will find it in the Gospel
and in the New Testament. What does it mean? He committed it already, it is registered
already. Whether it became an action or not.

So, every thought, every emotion is creating an elemental, and that elemental is
living. Now, we will connect the elemental with the actions. All elementals tend to
become actions, either expressed in words or in deeds. There was never any thing done
on the material plane without having its source in a thought or an elemental, building it.
So, the energy, the power is in the thought (in the thought form, I mean) and everything
follows, constructively or destructively, one way or the other. So, our whole life on the
planet, of anyone as a Present-Day Personality, man or a woman, is living, again living
the impressions of already living and existing elementals by revitalizing them, or creating
elementals himself (very rare). Revitalizing other elementals is what every human being
is doing every day, every hour, every moment, because every moment everyone of us is
using his subconscious mind—in what ways?—either by receiving impressions and
revitalizing the elementals within himself, or by bringing to the surface the elementals
from his subconscious to his consciousness—revitalizing them.

So, the influence on the Present-Day-Personality is either from without, through the five
senses bringing to the surface existing elementals, or entering in our subconscious
bringing them (we ourselves) to the surface (re-energizing them being dormant in our
sub-consciousness) and living with them and in them. This is the whole life of any human
being as an entity living on the planet. Now, do you call it life or playing? Dreaming?
That's why I said in the other lesson that we are dreaming. Even by acting, moving
about, living our life. It's a kind of dream. Another proof that it's a dream: what are, now,
my present-moment impressions? After a few hours they will belong to the past and we
will have other impressions. In the feeling it gave me it was pleasing. Suppose you have a
picnic out in the country, to the seaside or to the mountains, anywhere, and you have a
great pleasure of seeing things (living certain hours in the country). Carefree. And then
you come back to your normal duties at home, in the office, anywhere. These pleasing
elementals tend to come to the surface. You will remember them, especially the things
that have pleased you and the things that have given you pain. The more pain, the more
consistent are these elementals coming to the surface. And the more pleasing, more often
they come to the surface as well. So, sitting somewhere, closing your eyes, you think
"Oh, I had a very nice time on Sunday", and today is Tuesday or Wednesday with heavy
work to do. In moments of relaxation go to your study and think, "Oh, we had a very
lovely Sunday experiences". You may close your eyes and see yourself walking in the
countryside even, enjoying things, repeating your impressions you have received some
hours or days before. You are living again those experiences. If these elementals were not
living in your sub-consciousness, how would you be able to relive again those moments?
By remembering. And what about forgetting—when you are loaded with experiences you
think that you are forgetting? Nobody had ever forgotten anything, because forgetting
something painful or pleasing, being heavily loaded with impressions, maybe years and
years will pass and it will come to the surface, either painful or pleasing (if you have not
taken the care to de-energize it, or even if you have de-energized it, be careful that it will
not approach to get more energy, living again with you). So, we are all the time in this
ocean of our sub-consciousness and the sub-consciousness of everyone around us.
Revitalizing, re-energizing these elementals, this is our life as we live it on the planet
now.

Now I will say something about the Divine Mercy. Due to the law of cause and effect we
sometimes have very, very bitter experiences in our material bodies. Now, undergoing a
serious surgery, science succeeded, by giving an injection, that we won’t have any
physical pain as we call it. And after that, when you wake up, you may have some pain of
course, but not that bitter pain of cutting your flesh. But sometimes it's necessary that you
don't have an injection; if the heart is very weak, for example, or a woman is giving birth.
She may shriek and the whole locality will hear her, the whole place will hear her. That
means pain, pain, physical pain of the material body. Anyone may have undergone such
bitter experiences in his life. Now, we will not say the reason and cause of it. Anyhow,
this is a bitter and unpleasant experience, this pain in the material body. Let’s try to bring
this pain to your mind after some time. Impossible. You can bring the event, but not the
pain. Why? Because the Absolute Beingness, the Logos, deprives you from remembering
the pain. Remembering the event, I said, but not the pain. You can never recollect the
pain. Try it and you will see.

I had a fellow the other day with a very, very heavy toothache for two or three days. No
painkilling tablets could do anything. It was so bad. He went to a dentist and he told him
"Look here, in the condition it is, I'm afraid I can't give you any anesthetics. Come, I'll
take it out". The dentist took the tooth out. He told me that the moment was very painful,
and he described it. I said, "Bring into your mind now the pain you have undergone".
"Curious, I can't bring pain to my mind, though I can bring into my mind the sitting on
the dentist's chair and even the pulling out of my tooth". Yes, he did just that; he could
remember the event, but not the pain of that moment. So, the mercy of the Infinite
Beingness is depriving all human beings of the memory of pain, but not the memory of
the event. The event, yes certainly, but not the pain. So, this is a proof of the mercy of
God, of the Infinite Beingness. So, no elemental of pain can exist. Elemental created by
events, yes, but not of pain. Of pleasure? Yes, they exist. You may have pleasing
moments and after that close your eyes and live them again and have pleasure. You feel
the pleasures you had. So, elementals of pleasure are created. No elementals of pain are
created.

Now, we spoke so much about the elementals, energizing them, revitalizing them, but we
see that there are also pain-giving elementals. Not painful elementals, but pain-giving
elementals. What do I mean? There are no such elementals to remember pain. But an
elemental may inspire us to do something that will give us pain if we do it... That is why I
say pain-inspiring or pain-giving elementals. How should we de-energize them? There
are elementals reawakened within our sub-consciousness, of anger, of hatred, and of the
worst elemental, I told you, is the elemental created by the feeling of being wounded or
offended. It gives you an elemental feeling of despising, even of hating somebody else, a
human being. These are the pain-giving elementals. Why? Because: "Yes, all right, he
told me that. When I meet him we shall see what will happen", and when you meet him,
you attack him, you slap him, you give him pain and he gives you pain. That is why I say
pain-inspiring elemental or pain giving elemental. We should be careful with these
elementals and de-energize them, because many, many painful events happened and are
happening all around us by giving these elementals the power to dominate over us. I say
and insist now, that we should get rid of this devil called the feeling of being offended.
It's simply just a kind of a gentle feeling. "Well, I am not just a man without any feelings.
They are telling me that. Of course, this affects me. Why should they say that of me, to
me?" I said, this is the worst devil. You should guard yourself from this devil, which has
been the cause even of many murders, killings and vendettas.

How, how can we come to the point? By reason. Reason? "Well, that fellow told me this
and that and that!" Usually in words. Why should I be affected? He just showed his bad
character. Why should I be affected? Those words, why have they touched me? Why was
I upset hearing those words? What are words? So, decide never to be affected by what
others say, except by using reason. What do I mean? A fellow comes to you insulting and
attacking in words and everything. Don't be affected by what he says, but think it over. Is
he right? Or is he wrong? You know better. You know your character. Maybe, sometimes
they are right. They have seen or observed something you did not. People, being attacked
by others telling them what they have in them, become more angry and more aggressive.
You'll observe that. But, if in your instance, somebody is telling something, calling you
something, don't be affected by what that fellow said, but take it and put yourself the
question "Is he right or wrong?" No need to quarrel, no need to humiliate yourself if you
have that fault, but think it over, and maybe you do have something you did not observe
before, and now, they have noticed it. Changing yourself, that's what I mean. Not being
affected by what they say, but seeing if they are right or wrong. Sometimes a so-called
enemy can be our best friend, telling us something to have us change for the better. So,
those who are enemies in reality sometimes are helping us in seeing something we did
not observe before. Under this sense—just listen to what that fellow says. Listen to see
but not to be affected to attack.

So, we should have that in mind. This is the proper behavior you get by acquiring the
habit of not letting anything escape your attention—by observing everything. Nothing of
what happens around you but of what happens inside your Present-Day-Personality, and
something else: following the instructions of the Beloved One, Joshua the Christ, you
should never criticize anyone, you should never accuse anyone, and you should never
suspect anyone, because you create an elemental injuring him. Have that in your mind.
So, we should never criticize, suspect anyone. Yes, we have seen this fellow so many
times doing that, and that, and that. Yes, seeing him doing that, gladly we suspect that his
intentions are that or that. Be kinder to him. Because, even if that fellow had the
intention, by suspecting him, you push him. You send him and push him to do that. But,
not suspecting, sending a wish, you stop him. A thought is really a great force. Have
this in your mind. A great force. So we should be careful of this kind of force—the
thought.

Some years ago there was a fellow who brought a woman from Greece to marry him.
People said that she was not of good morals. That was her own business. Maybe by
gossip, they were strengthening that weakness in that poor woman. The aunt of the
bridegroom suspected that the first cousin of her husband wanted her for sex. She told me
one day, because she was a friend of my wife. I told her, "Look here, do you know what
you are doing now? You are pushing them!" She said, "No, I know, she goes very often
to their house and when the husband goes out he is keeping her company, and that, and
that, and so many things." These things happened, really, and the husband found his wife
with his first cousin. Their mothers were sisters. This aunt, stepsister, in the family,
excited them. "You must send her away. She is... and she is...and she is like that."
Talking and talking, she made the husband think of killing his cousin. My wife told me,
"Do you know what happened? It is very dangerous. That fellow is playing cards in that
coffee shop there and I heard her husband saying that he would kill him. And he has a
dagger!" I said, "Tell your friend that she is a very bad woman. She would be the killer".
She told me, "Go, please, to the coffee shop". Really, I saw the husband coming. He did
not even notice me going. And I went after him. In that coffee shop there are fellows just
gambling and he was gambling, and the husband pushed the door of the coffee shop,
entered, struck the dagger. I was at the door at that moment. Everybody saw that fellow
and started just studying him. But no, ... he started to grab the dagger that wouldn't come
out. Somebody got up and got him. He didn't stop the fellow. Turning to me he said,
"Why are you holding my hand?" I said, "I am not holding your hand". He felt it. What
does it mean? Thought is power. Energy. Every thought creates an elemental. "Don't do
it", is what he felt. He remembered it. Now, they have the worst; the woman went away
to her friends. He meets me sometimes. "Thank you", he says "Daskale, I would have
been hanged, or be in prison all my life". So, what do I want to say? Elementals -
becoming our masters and we becoming their slaves. We as Present-Day-Personality are
the torturers of ourselves. See what is going on all around us, in all the places of the
world now, on the planet. Wars. What do you think is the cause of these wars?
Elementals of aggression, of hostility, of hatred. So, have that in your mind. And what are
we doing? People talking politics, they are strengthening these elementals, and this is the
most stupid thing people are doing, getting to one side or the other side, creating and
revitalizing elementals.

Now, when we revitalize elementals, or create new elementals, what happens? We create,
subconsciously, without knowing it, a form, the elemental, but we create also an aura.
The aura of the elemental is very powerful. And so, maybe in the aura is the real
punishment to the fellow who does it to the others.

One day I was on a parade, the National Day parade, nothing more stupid and dangerous.
The Turkish people on the other side were sitting in peace, without caring too much about
these things. This happened some years before. So, it was the National Day and people
started going with trumpets and everything, waving the Greek flag, going on making
parades, and parades and parades, and I said, "You are stupid fellows, you don't know
what you are doing". A schoolmaster told me, "Yes, of course, because you have English
blood in your veins and you don't feel". I said, "You are stupid", I said, "Yes, when they
make the trumpets blow you feel something gets in your solar plexus, your sub-
consciousness vibrating, and that's it". He said, "That doesn't happen to me". "Yes," I
said, "never mind, stay like that". He started shouting, singing national anthems and this,
and that and that. I said, "Do you know what you are doing?" "What are we doing?" "I'll
tell you, after three days." In three days' time the Turks in Turkey had their national day.
And the Cypriots never cared in the past to celebrate it. They didn't. This time they
started making parades with the Turkish flag and other kind of things. Then I said, "You
see what you have done?" "What have we done?" Yes, and I explained to them that not
only the elementals of patriotism (which is crime) but also the vibrations have created
that pretext never thought of in previous years of celebrating that day. "Now they do what
you did." He said, "But they didn't come to this side to see us wave the flag". I said, "No
need to see. They repeat things subconsciously."

So, what do I mean to say? What we feel at National Days we strengthen the same feeling
in others we call our enemies. So, we should be very, very careful in creating elementals.
It is the group elementals but also the family elementals, the society elementals, and the
national elementals. And all human beings now are slaves of these elementals of their
own creation. And they are suffering due to that.

Now I am speaking about what you call evil elementals, but the same thing is with the
good elementals, constructive elementals. Somebody came to me the other day and said,
"Oh, don't you think, Daskale, it is most unnecessary to have all these days and vespers
and going to church and making services, and all that?" "No, they are good. Maybe I
don't need them, but others need them." What do they do, these prayers? A Christian, or a
Greek Orthodox, goes to church, subconsciously praying out of habit, just to be there on
those days and all that. Kind of dreaming. That's good. And those services in the
churches for the Virgin Mary and for Christ, and for various saints, are doing the same
effect to the Moslems praying to Allah. That's good. What do I mean to say? Evil
thoughts are strengthening the evil thoughts for destruction. Good thoughts are also
strengthening the good thoughts for the benefit of both sides. This is what I have noticed.

Now, there is something I would like to say. Our friends, the thirds (I will not call them
Americans, English or anything)—what are these nations planning? What have they
succeeded to do in Lebanon (Christians and Moslems)? They have planned everything
and you see how much bloodshed is in Lebanon? Do you think they did not plan to do the
same thing in Cyprus? Yes. Why didn't they succeed? (And they are wondering, even
telling me about that, certain people.) Because we did not allow them to do it. There is a
group of the innermost circle doing the work, flooding Cyprus with love, with the
atmosphere of love. And there is not any clash between the Moslems and the Greek
Cypriots. Only on two occasions, and that was not on national things but on love affairs.
They are wondering, both sides, but we take out the fuse from the bombs all the time. But
how do we succeed to do that? If those fellows in the group, I call them invisible helpers,
had in them even the smallest trace of hatred, they would not have succeeded in doing
that. But the life and blood of the Seldjuk and the life and blood of the Greeks are for us
sacred in the same way. And now, we try to create Cypriot consciousness, for both of us,
Christians and Moslems. You in Switzerland, you have succeeded in it, you have created
the Swiss consciousness, and no matter if you are German-speaking, French-speaking or
Italian- speaking, you are Swiss. This is what we try to do in Cyprus now. To create
Cypriot consciousness, Turkish-speaking or Greek-speaking, Cypriots are Cypriots,
brothers, they must live together. And they, I hope will succeed in the end.

So, thoughts have in them much power. A group of German friends from both sides, East
and West, instructed by me are working. Didn't they tear down the walls of Berlin? Didn't
they tell you it needed much longer for that? What does this mean? We should work
constructively. Because evil elementals can do much evil, but love elementals can do
much good. Somebody will say "But you are a Cypriot and you speak about Cypriot
consciousness, what do we care, we are Germans. Why do you do that? What do you care
about the French?" Now, I said: nationalism is a very bad thing. You ask me what I am? I
am a human. What is my country? The planet. What are the nations? Rooms in the same
big construction in which my family lives, and my family is every human being.
What was our invocation at the beginning before starting the lesson? After saying the
prayer what do I say? "God of Life, Love and Mercy, enlighten our minds to understand
your Truth". Which truth? That all human beings are brothers and sisters, fathers and
mothers. "Clean our hearts, all of our hearts, of all the human beings, to reflect Your
love towards You, One God, and towards all other human beings". All. Without
exception. We cannot have enemies. Shall we have friends? Neither enemies nor friends
—have brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers belonging to the same family, human
family; belonging to the same house, the planet—our house is the planet. We should have
this in mind.
God raises the sun every morning for everybody. Not for a certain few. And all of us are
breathing the vitality and oxygen in the air having the same right as phenomenon of life,
living in our bodies. You have a common substance to live on: the atmosphere of the
planet. So, all that should make us understand that all human beings are brothers and
sisters, not friends, not enemies. This belongs to the world of opposites. Yes, of course,
instead of enemies be friends, it's better. But, friends, without knowing the truth, slaves of
the human egoism, are becoming enemies. Many friends are starting with a nice
friendship, but because they are victims of their personal egoism, they become enemies.
Brothers and sisters; children, parents; fathers and mothers. But, after all, who said that?
Christ. Christ said in the Bible (and it is in the Bible) "He who loves his father and his
mother more than me". What does He mean? More than Love! Because, He is Love, the
impersonal Love. "He is not worthy of me", worthy of the expression of Love. He didn't
speak about his Present-Day-Personality, because He said, "I am the Love in the world,
and for him who follows me I will give him many children, fathers and mothers." Yes,
for the one who reflects (his heart reflects) the Love of God towards all the human
beings, all the elderly people are his fathers and mothers, all the people of about the same
age are his brothers and sisters, and all juniors, boys and girls, are his children.

So, if you feel like that it doesn't mean to love your children less, but to love the others
more. You are not depriving your children of the love you should give them. Love them
to the utmost of your being able to love. The same goes for the others. So, we must have
this in mind. We belong to one family, the human family, and all human beings inhabit
the planet, our common home. And our home is not in need of boundaries or walls of
shame (or green lines which should go away). What our heart should express is only love.

Something else: Do you think if you love, and you know how to love, not just egoistically
but impersonally, do you think anyone can injure you, become an enemy? When I was
young I met a fellow at my work. Poor fellow, he thought that I was an obstacle in his
progress, feeling that I have benefited more in the promotions. I was laughing. When
there were promotions I took him and said, "Come, go on. Come to the promotion. I don't
care about it. So, will you become an enemy to me?" Well, I behaved in this way many
times and one time he came to me and said, "Why am I unable to hate you? I want to hate
you, but I can not hate you." I said, "But you don't love me, either. Try to love me." He
said, "No, I'll never love you". "Then try to hate me". "I can not hate you". I said, "Then
don't hate me." Yes, we became friends. We became friends. So, it's very easy to make
enemies, have it in your mind. It is more difficult to make friends. Making friends is
better than making enemies. And to make friends and stop making enemies, fight egoism
in you. You can never be an egoist and know how to love properly.

Something else: Evil is destroying evil. Goodness is strengthening goodness. Now,

choose in which direction you go. Yes.
