1. INSTALL WINDOWS SERVER STANDARD ON PC1
2. INSTALL WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 64bit ON PC2 3. Create Network Cable (4pcs straight through cable) 4. Set-up patch panel and modular box Sequence: Router>Hub>Patch Panel>Modular box>PC
5. Install LAN driver for both PC1 & PC2
-Start>search “Device Manager”, Right click Ethernet Controller>Update Driver>Browse>Computer> Do Not Delete>Software>Drivers>Ok>Next 6. CHANGE PC NAME FOR PC1 & PC2 -Start>Right Click Computer>Properties>Change Settings>Change PC1-Computer Name=YOURNAME-SERVER PC2-Computer Name=YOURNAME-CLIENT WORKGROUP = CSSLAB -Click on Ok>Close>Yes to Restart computer 7. Set Static IP for PC1-Server -Start>search “command prompt (cmd)” – type <IPCONFIG> press Enter -Right click on LAN icon>Open Network Settings>Change Adapter Settings>Right click Local Area Network>Properties>Internet Protocol Version 4>Properties>Copy from cmd (Preferred DNS:127.0.0.1) 8. CRATE A NEW DOMAIN PC1-Server -Start>Search>”DCPROMO” press Enter>Simply follow the on-screen instruction -Domain Name = yourname.com (Example: danzel.com) 9. Run Services for PC1-Server Start>Search “Services” (Right click on Function Discovery Resource Publication>Properties>Start-up type=Automatic & click on Start) -Do the same for SSDP Discovery & UpnP Device Host 10. Set Preferred DNS for PC2-Client -Start>Right click Network>Properties>>Change Adapter Settings>Right click Local Area Network>Properties >Internet Protocol>Properties>Select Obtain an IP Address Automatically -Preferred DNS=PC1-Server’s IP Address (Example: 192.168.0.100) 11. Connect PC2 to your Domain (PC2-Client) -Start>Right click Computer>Properties>Change Settings>Change>Type in your domain name -Username=Administrator | Password=Montfort1234 12. Create Active Directory Users and Computers (PC1-Server) a. Start>Administrative Tools>Active Directory Users & Computers b. Select your domain (+)>Right Click on Users>Create User c. Type in your user’s credentials>uncheck user must change password at next log-in 13. Set-up Home Folder (PC1-Server) a. Create a folder on a desktop (Name=Home Folder) b. Right click Home Folder>Properties>Sharing>Advance Sharing c. Check Share this Folder>Permissions>Remove Everyone User>Add Domain Users>Ok d. Check Full Control>Click on Apply and Ok>Highlight and copy Network Path e. Go back and right click user>Properties>Profile>Connect (Z or any drive letter), right click and Paste add \%username%>Click on Apply and Ok 14. Log on the created domain user (PC2-Client) a. Restart PC>Press Ctrl+Alt+Del>Other User b. Type in the user log on name c. Click on Start>Computer> you should see home folder network drive 15. Add Roles (Print Management & DHCP) -Start>Administrative Tools>Server Manager>
