Introduction

Dear customer,

This installation instruction is intended for the Dell Optiplex GX280 Selectra-XL and Flexor-
XL analyzer PC’s.

Due to the fact that there are two types of GX280 the kit will contain two image CD’s one for
the GX 280 with a brown colored case and one with a silver colored case.

On the CD itself there is an photo printed for which GX280 the CD is mend.

We always try to be as complete as possible but we can imagine that questions remain after
reading this instruction. Please feel free to contact us in case of any questions.

The purpose of this instruction is to restore the Windows 2000 Operating System in case of
corrupted Windows 2000 OS.

• 8002-831 Dell Optiplex GX280 (brown). Windows 2000 restore CD.

Instruction

• Power up the PC by pressing the power button.

• Press F12 to enter the boot options menu.


(Sometimes the screen is not fast enough to show this option, in that case you press
F12 several times when the screen is still black).

• Put the correct CD into the CD-Rom drive. (take a close look at the CD label)

• You will see the following text on the screen:

Boot Device Menu

*Onboard or USB Floppy Drive


*Onboard SATA Hard Disk
*Onboard or USB CD-Rom Drive

*System Setup
*Hard Drive Diagnostics
*Boot to Utility Partition

Use up/down arrows to highlight desired item


Use ENTER to select highlighted item

• Use the down-arrow key to select the third option: “Onboard or USB CD-Rom Drive”

• Press [ENTER]

• After a few seconds you will see a blue screen with the Symantec Ghost 7.0
Wait until the “progress indicator” is completed.

• The following screen will appear.

• Click on [Yes] to reboot the PC.


• Install the Selectra XL / Flexor XL software according to the instructions.
