Design Criteria: First Floor

The document provides design criteria for live and dead loads on the first and second floors and roof of a building. On the first floor, live loads in reading rooms are 2.9 kPa and in stack rooms are 7.2 kPa. On the second floor, live loads in reading rooms are 2.9 kPa, in stack rooms are 7.2 kPa, and in corridors above ground floor are 3.8 kPa. Dead load values and references are provided for concrete, floor finishes, ceilings, and roof coverings. Live load on the roof is 0.6 kPa using the tributary area method for roofing areas over 60 m2.
