RadaScan Operator’s Quick Reference Guide

Introduction
This document is designed for use by competent operator’s
of the RadaScan position reference system. It assumes the
operator has a good understanding of the content of the
t
RadaScan Operator’s Guide (Doc № 94-0021-4) and

has received appropriate training for operating this system.
Note: It is vital that you read and fully understand
the Single and Multi-Target Navigation section of the
RadaScan Operator’s Guide before attempting to
complete steps 3 and 5 below.

To Start Navigating:
Before you begin, check that there are reflections shown in
the Reflections tab and targets shown on the Sensor Display
(adjust the zoom if necessary).
..Display or Hide the Blanking Zone as required
(see page 2 for more details).
33Check the Alarms tab for any problems that need to
be resolved before you proceed. (see page 2 for more
details).
$$Select the Target or Targets to be used for navigating
(see page 2 for more details). r
//Click the Start Navigation button to begin navigating.
11Where applicable*, ensure that the RadaScan
Coordinate Axes are correctly aligned with the vessel
heading (or other heading reference) before selecting
RadaScan as a live sensor in the DP system.

with your DP system manufacturer.

q Blanking Zones
Refer to the Navigation Basics section of the
RadaScan Operator’s Guide for details on setting up the
blanking zone.

To show or Hide the Blanking Zone:


1. Click on the Display Options button.
2. Click on Show Blanking Zone.
This will toggle the blanking zone on or off on the display,
depending on the current setting.
