INTRODUCTION
Background of the study
Senior high school was intergous for the first time in
history in 2016
Senior High School has different programs that student
can choose from in the academic track these are the following:
HUMMS- Humanities and Social Science
STEM- Science Thechnology Engineering and Maintenance
ABM- Accountancy and Business Management
GAS- General Accademic Strands in the Tehcnical Vocational
and livelihood track there ar many others programs including :
BAPP ( Bread and Pastry Productio ), Hairdressing , ICT
( Information and Communication Technology? , EPAS(
Electronic Product Assembling and servicing, and EIM (
Electrical Installation and Maintenance)
A senior high school is noted and competency based it is
inclusive and build towards the needs of the learners and
community.
The senior high school program is good offer in our
country because they give a chance to take this opportunity to
enter in senior high school so that to enhance their knowledge
and skills of every students.
Senior High School students are giving the opportunities
to choose their program according to their interest and their
abilities. E.I.M. is one of the program that is coming Grade 11
students. The E.I.M. program requires the mastery of skills
including.
In senior high school it have a strand TVL enclosed here
is EIM and etc. There are so many career that you can explore
after taking this strands course if you can graduate this strand
you can be a future electrical engineer and so on.
The motivation if you really want to enter in this strand
you need to have a self-actualization that motivated you to
discover your hiding skills that you needs to show to others
then job opportunity this track give you a chance to gain your
future career and the last is field attraction why are you
attracting in this things to picking up that you want in this
course.
According to Department of Education `if you really if
you will be able to pursue any degree after senior high school
and if you want to earn money immediately after graduation
then this track is for you even without college TVL TECHNICAL
VOCATIONAL LIVELIHOOD TRACK will equip you with job
ready skills in the future.
This track also invest primarily on skills that can gain you
requisite COC’s CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY and NC’s
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE which would be essential when
looking for better career opportunities .
Objective of the study
THIS STUDY HAD A FOLLOWING OBJECTIVE
1. To determine the profiles of the respondents in terms of
A. Gender
B. Senior high school strand
C. Income of parents
2. To know the motivation level of the students in terms of
A. Self actualization
B. Job opportunity
C. Field attractiveness
3. To inform the preferred E.I.M. Strand for the respondents
4. To determine whether there 3 significant relationship
between the motivation and preference of the respondents
Hyphothesis
There have a significant relationship between motivation
and college preferences of senior high school TEACHNICAL
VOCATIONAL LIVELIHOOD (TVL) student of BATASAN HILLS
NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Scope and limitation
The research focuses on the taking up Electrical
Installation and Maintenance in Grade 11 and 12 students.
The time table for this research is January to March 20 , 2020
The data collection will be conducted to 10% of the total
pupulation in Grade 11 and 12 of Senior High School of
Batasan Hills National High School year 2019-2020.
The other student who do not belong to this strand
(ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE) are not
covered by the research.
The study would be done through the Utilization of
questionares to the student as survey and reference. By this
method the researcher will get the results and validate it.
It is limited to answer the question ( I. Demographic
Profile, II. Motivation for E.I.M. strand of Batasan Hills Senior
High School TVL student;, self-reflection, self-development,
self- discovery ,self-actualization, job oppertunity,
International, local; field attraction, interest, skills and ability)
on the questionaire.
Significance of the study
The research would be beneficial to the students because
will encourage the students to take Electical Installation and
Maintenance as their choice of study. It will guide them and
vision of the course.
It will be their guide for choosing their course and this is
the way to encourage them to choose the E.I.M. strand and it
gives the information about safety and hazard of taking the
E.I.M strand.
The reason and expectations of the students will also
serve as their basis for choosing the course. The research will
also benefits the teachers to identify the training and teaching
method to adapt for the students.
They will be able to provide the necessary approach to
deal with the students and introduce the importance and
significance of the course.
The research will also be the basis of the parents to allow
their children to take up the course.
Both the parents and students will have the
information of the safety and hazards of Electrical Installation
and Maintenance.
