“Student Academic Tracker”

Scope of the system:
This project is going to automate the flow of information between
a academic student and its respective college body. The reason behind
this project is to spread the vital information that a student need to fulfill
his academic year.
Hence the scope of the computerized system is as follows:

● The website also provides a private login ID and password for


administrator.
● The creation of new student_id account will be done at time of
admissions only under guidance of authority, and a dedicate id and
password will be given to every student.
● All the applications must be stored in suitable database.
● All the fields should be stored in their respective formats.
● All the Students from various stream can be able to see there
academic progress in terms of there assignment submission, there
up coming due dates , various events exams etc from the Internet.
● It is very efficient way to stay updated regarding your respective
class.
● The head of the institute always keeps track of every entry and
rights to central database.
Hence the website is capable to show all the detail of the student
academic progress.
Objective of the system:
The main objective of this “Web application” is for Student (user)
to see his academic progress in his respective stream ,despite their
geographical location. For that this web application will have its login
screen
● Storing online application form.

● Provide up to date information to the user regarding his academia.

● Add, Modify, Delete any data from the database rights will be
given to responsible staff members and teachers for updating their
status regarding their subjects.

● Provide the up-to-date information to the user (student).

● Managing the huge database of details of the students& their


academic performance.
Platform and technology used for development:
JSP:
JSP is a Java technology that allows software developers to
dynamically generate HTML, XML or other types of documents in
response to a web client request. JSP can use Java programming
language or JavaScript.
JSP works with the Java security model. JSP is extensible with
custom tag libraries.
JSP for short is Sun’s solution for developing dynamic website.

SQL:
SQL is a tool for organizing, managing and retrieving data stored
by a computer database. The process of requesting data from a database
and receiving back the results is called as a database query.
SQL is used to control data definition, data retrieval, data
manipulation, access control, data sharing, data integrity all these
functions which provided by database management system.
Hardware Specification:
Processor Pentium IV
Memory 256mb
Disk space To store the developed file
Drives 1.44 floppy disk drives, CD-ROM

Web-Based Environment

Software Specification:
Front-End JSP
Back-End My Sql
Operating System No Particular
Existing System:
The current system by which our user(student) get its information
regarding his academia is via verbal communication , the main problem
with this system is that it doesn't assure that each student have been
notified about their due dates assignment submission etc and various
news regarding their stream a student should be aware of .

Limitations:
If proper information is not updated by the responsible personnel, it
might compromise the entire system.
In case of system failure, user might miss there important dates.
Future Enhancement:
In future this web application will also carry out admissions
process and filling of various forms and event forms in the implemented
college. It will also give us update about your admission status

Conclusion:
This web application will create a revolution in current era of
student college interaction. This will also help the students with their
time management which will eventually uplift their academic
performance. Even teachers can check with their students without the
need of physical interaction. It will also help the Green cause by
reducing paper work of the staff.
