OVERALL REFLECTION OF THE

REFLECTION

As a future teacher, it is very important to know how you will assess your
student effectively. It is like just making a lesson plan, there must be an objectives and
purpose. There must be a set of criteria and rubrics. None of that will matter if I haven’t
learned in this subject (GED 321-Assessment of Learning 2)

Assessment of Learning 2 is the subject of an Education course wherein you

will know how to evaluate your students by their performance, comprehension and
analytical skills. I’ve learned when and where it will be used. Formative and Summative
type assessment is very applicable when the teacher wants to know the capacity of
the student. Students seems to be have a different ways of learning and
understanding, so therefore, we will give the students the proper way of teaching and
assessment that can be fully understood and equally absorb.

According to the Effective pedagogy, NZ Curriculum - “Reflective learners

assimilate new learning, relate it to what they already know, adapt it for their own
purposes, and translate thought into action. Over time, they develop their creativity,
their ability to think critically about information and ideas, and their metacognitive
ability (that is, their ability to think about their own thinking)”. In this phrase, the
effectivity of the students learning is in the hands of a patient teacher. The
comprehension of the student will not always be as instant, but a process. A process
where there is development, until it is succeeded.

Same also in assessing the student’s potential to learn, and the creativeness
that has been shown. Students have different interest, talents and skills. As a teacher,
we will not focus only on how these information will do for them, the teacher must show
to them and apply it in a real-life situation in order for the students to retain what have
their learned. And assessing them will be easy and great because of the quality of the
lesson they learned.
There are twenty-nine (29) Grade 7 students of Koronadal National
Conmprehensive High- School Paraiso Extension were the samples of the grades.
The identified least mastered competencies in the Pre-Test for the second grading
period was the basis of developing the SIM (Strategic Intervention Material) in
Commercial cooking based ofn the result of the item analysis

The item analysis was made in order to determine what competencies were
least mastered. The least mastered competencies were the basis of constructing the
SIM and it was utilized as an intervention material. The SIM undergo content validation
before it was finally given to the student’s ready for use.

PERSONAL EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who

enters a classroom. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, I think that

teachers must fully understand the importance of their job. First, I believe that teachers

must consider teaching to be a lifestyle, not a mere forty-hour-a-week job, because a

teacher's goals for his/her students encompass much more than relaying out-of-

context facts to passive students. As professionals entrusted with the education of

young minds, teachers must facilitate learning and growth academically, personally,

and ethically. By providing a quality education to each individual in one's classroom, a

teacher equips children with the tools necessary for success in life.

I believe that all children have the ability to learn and the right to a quality education.

All youths, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, and capabilities should have the

opportunity to learn from professional, well-informed teachers who are sophisticated

and knowledgeable, both in their area of expertise and life. Certainly, every child has

different learning styles and aptitudes; however, by having a personal relationship with

every student, a teacher can give each an equal chance of success. By recognizing

every student's potential and having separate, individual goals for each, a teacher can

accommodate personal needs and abilities and encourage the pursuit of academic

aspirations.

In choosing to become a teacher, I have made the commitment to myself and my

future students to be the best academic, personal, and ethical role model I can be. It

is my goal to have a mutually enriching teaching career by keeping an open mind and

continually communicating with my peers and students. I am prepared to rise to the

challenges of teaching in the 21st century, and I promise to try to provide an honest,

well-rounded education to every student I encounter.

CREDO
TEACHING CREED

STUDENT’s TEACHER PRAYER

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, when you lived, worked and talked among the people, they called

you Teacher.Help me to remember the greatness of work which has been

given to me to do.Help me always to remember that I work with the most

precious material in the mind of a child. Help me always to remember that I am

making upon that time will never rub out.

Give me patience with those who are slow to learn and even with those who

refuse to learn. When I have to exercise discipline, help me to do so with

sternness and yet with love.Keep me from the sarcatic and the biting tongue

and help me always to encourage and never to discourage those who are

doing their best, even if that best is not very good.

Help me to help these children, not only to store thngs in their memories, but

to be able to use their minds, and to think for themselves. And amidst the

worries and the irritations and the frustration of my profession, help me to

remember that the future of the church, the nation and of the world is in my

hands. Thus I ask for yourlove’s sake.

REFLECTION
After I learned the demo of different teaching strategies with the corresponding

different topic I affirmed to myself I am bless because I experience to learned the

subject which is very helpful for my ministry year. For me it is a show case where I am

free to choose whatever strategies I need to fit in my teaching ministry. For all the

learning’s these are the things I hardly forget for my future ministry year; have a good

classroom management, build a good dynamics for few months until it become a

routine, observe clear boundaries and be the best of your best. Most especially this

idea: we are not just teachers to instruct, we are touching not just minds but hearts,

we are molding souls.

I believe this would be the picture of my one year teaching regency if I practice

this to the school where I am assign. There is an order in the classroom, respect and

discipline must be observed, having good relationship with clear boundaries to my

students, to my co teachers, school coordinators and to my principal. It is also helpful

if I am familiar with the student handbook of the school so that I know the policies of

the school. This will help me how to address appropriately of whatever issues will arise

during my ministry year. As what Brother Eric shared in his personal experience about

the issue of his student. He was put into a situation where challenge to stand of his

own position regarding the issue. The issue between the sanction of the violation of

the student and the appropriate corrective measure that can possibly form the student

into a better person, there is a tension for him and the school. As he chose the second

option, this required enough time to console and monitors the student and the parent

regarding the issue.

From this I realized that teaching is not only in the cognitive and informative

level. But it is also to the affective transformative level. This two classification and

category must go together in order to teach the student in a holistic way. This will help
the student mold of being a whole person. A student knows how to interact and shares

ideas to others. A student knows how to relate others with different behaviors, values

and virtues. However this kind of learning is only attainable from the holistic teachers

also. That teacher knows how to assess his student if his student learned from his

discussion. And knows how to assess if his student has capacity to apply in a concrete

situation of what he had learned from the discussion.

I believe that having a good teaching strategy is just a half of the whole process

of learning. It is a learning process from the teacher to the students. The other half is

the application of the learning of the student to their concrete experience in life. There

is a shift now of the learning process, from the student to themselves and other.

I believe an effective teacher will not formed only a good mind to their students

but also a good heart.
