0 Introduction

Microsoft Project is a project management solution designed for enterprises of all sizes. It features
project scheduling, which allows project managers to define project tasks, assign them to the team,
and track in-progress assignments.

Microsoft Project also features project budgeting, which helps managers estimate the costs for the
entire span of a project. Managers can also perform “Earned Value Analytics” and estimate the
cost performance of their projects. Besides, managers also can estimate the duration of the project
by using Microsoft project. The software provides built in templates, scheduling tools, and access
across devices increase productivity for project managers.

Microsoft Project provides interactive dashboards and reporting functionalities. The project
managers can also prepare reports and make decisions about project execution and staffing levels.
Scheduling features like Gantt charts and prepopulated pulldown menus help reduce training time
and simplify the project planning process. In conclusion, Microsoft Project is a tool in monitoring
the stages of projects, and can provide insights into whether things will complete on time or not.
Besides, Microsoft Project software good in determining the work budget (planned versus actual),
so the work can be aligned accordingly.

2.0 Scope of the Project

In this project, students are required to prepare construction work programme for civil work
(building or infrastructure). The project should meet a minimum requirement which is the list of
the activities required to complete a project is not less than 50 activities. Besides, the limit for the
cost of the project is RM 3 500 000 (3.5 millions). The project should be finish within 18 months
and the work down structure must be up to level 4.

From the scope above, we have decided to build a Jusco supermarket with area about 84000 square
feet. The building is one-storey building consist about 50 different shop inside include of groceries,
clothes, shoes, gadget, electric appliances and others. Besides, the building also provides the
facilities such as toilet, surau, food court, ATM machines, car park and other facilities for OKU.
