Sometimes itis usemito save some information about a route as an ASCⅡ text nle for use with some other
application,or use some ASCⅡ format¨ generated route in the ECDIS.ECDIS can generate an ASCⅡ textflle iom a
route.ECDIS can also generate a route■ om an ASCH text ile.¶ le following formats for route backup&restore
are avallable:

5. ASCⅡ POSIT10N:List ofLatitude/Longitude values
6.ASCⅡ WPNAME POSrloN:List ofWP names and Latitude/Longitude

7.ASCIIPOSIT10N WPNAME:List ofLatitude/Longitude and WP names

8. ASCII FIILL:AH route related infomation

To lnake backup fronl a route in ASCII format,do the lb1lowing:

1.Place the cursor on Route in the status bar and then click the Plan button to open the Plan Route dialog box.

2. Place the cursor on the triangle in the dialog box,choose Backup and Restore Jlom the rnenu and then push the
thulnbwhecl.

3.In the Hard Disk neld,choose desired■ le iom ie list box and desired backup format with Backup Format.

4.Choose backup dHve■ om Drive in the Backup Device feld.Click the Backup button to create backup■ lc.

To restore a route,do the fouowing:

1. Fonow stepS l and 2 abovc to open the Backup and Restore dialog box.

2. Choose desired Backup Forlnat.

3. Choose backup drive in the Backup Device neld and choose desired■ le with the list box in the sarne ield.

4.Click the Restore button.

A5.1.l Exporting ECDiS route data into an Exce:file


Below is an exarnple ofhow to export waypointヾ name and latitude/1ongitude values to a Microsoft Excel table.

1. Placc thc cursor on Route in the status bar and then click the Plan button to open the Plan Route dialog box.
Place the cursor on the triangle in the dialog box,choose Backup and Restore tom the rnenu and then push the
thumbwheel.

2.In the IIard Disk neld,choose desired route and then ch∞ se desired Backup Format(ASCII WPNAME
POSIT10ND.

3.Choose backup drive(A:ゅ 金om the Backup Device ield and then insert■ oppy disk in the processor unit ofthe
ECDIS.Click the Backup button.

Move floppy disk to colmputer where you can rlln Notepad and MS Excel appHcations.
