Kids often tag along with their parents to visit exhibitions and fairs that take place in the
city and rarely do
these events have any entertainment for kids. Kids get bored, cranky and what should have been a fun
outing ends in a meltdown, tantrums and teary faces. Can’t really blame them! The reality is that, not many
child focused events happen in the city despite there being a genuine demand for it by parents. This need
was realized by Friends Playschool and Kindergarten, Jawahar Nagar and they conceptualized 'The
Children's Carnival', a one-of-kind event just for the kids. It was held at their premises during the beautiful
Christmas season of 2018.Trivandrum had not seen an event of this scale exclusively for kids. The event
turned out to be a huge success with a footfall of 500 people including kids and their parents. The proceeds
of the event were given to RCC through an organization called Ashraya. This year too, Friends Playschool
and Kindergarten comes back with 'Children's Carnival - Season II' on 23rd November at their new campus
at Venpalavattom, near KIMS hospital.
What is 'The Children's Carnival' all about??
A whole day of fun and frolic for kids is the whole idea! An event where parents tag along and kids have
all the fun! A carnival atmosphere is created with the help of face painters, clowns, jugglers, balloon artists,
street magicians, nail artists, mehndi artists, Cartoonists and caricature artists! There will be various fun
carnival games that kids can play to their heart's content. A quirky photobooth with funny props gives the
kids a chance to click whacky photos! Music & movement sessions where the kids and parents can get
loose and get their groove on! And no carnival is complete without food!! Food counters serving yummy
treats to the kids throughout the day. Let’s not forget an Ice-cream truck that will be parked at the venue to
satisfy your sweet cravings. The proceeds from this year’s Carnival will go towards helping
underprivileged kids suffering from terminal illnesses. Come to the Children’s carnival - Make happiness
happen in another child’s life!

People behind Friends:
The management of Friends Playschool and Kindergarten consists of 3 members, Ms Susan Mathew, Mr.
George K Thomas and Ms Joan Varghese. George K Thomas is a life transformation consultant and CEO
of Life Chefs, a HR training and Development organization. He has over 10 years of corporate experience
working with both MNC’s and start-up’s and handled markets like US, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia
apart from India. He decided to quit his comfortable, highly paid corporate job to follow his passion of
being a trainer. He is now working with his team to make his dream of an alternate school come true, to
create smart, life ready students and not just academically brilliant robots.The story of Joan Varghese too
is the same. She comes with over 7+ years of corporate experience. Its motherhood that made her realize
her passion to work with children, and since then she has been a very vivacious and energetic kindergarten
teacher, leaving behind all the glitz of her corporate job. Ms. Susan Mathew is the backbone of Friends, an
expert in early learning and child development and comes with over 20+ years of experience working with
children.
