AUDITIONS
WHAT TO EXPECT
YOUR AUDITION
For your audition you will be:
1. Learning a number from the show (TBD) in a group setting. Afterwards each person will be
asked to sing it solo, one at a time privately in front of the Director and Music Director.
2. Reading sides in groups in front of the director and creative team.
If we are not able to attain all the information we need, we will hold callbacks in which everyone
called from the first audition day will be notified the night before and those from the second day
will be asked to stay late. You will then learn the following:
1. Excerpt of a number based on the part you are being called for.
2. Reading sides for the parts you are called for.
A side is a short excerpt of the script, of which you’ll read the lines for a character that we’d like to
consider you for, or to understand your acting style. Because we know this can be nerve-wracking
to new actors, we are posting our sides ahead of time. Below are the sides that we will select from
during auditions. (Links only available on electronic PDF. QR code for script is posted outside GHS
Chorus Room)
