The Bundle of Sticks (Student Activity)

A farmer had sons who constantly quarreled. To teach them a lesson, he gathered a bundle of sticks tied together and challenged the sons to break it, but none could. He then untied the bundle and gave each son a single stick, which each was able to break with ease. The father explained that just as the sons were stronger united like the bundle of sticks, if they remained divided they would be weak like the individual sticks.

The Bundle of Sticks

There was a farmer with several sons who could never agree among themselves. He has often
told them how foolish they were to be always quarrelling, but they kept on and paid no attention to his
advice.

One day the Father called his (1) _____________ and showed a bundle of sticks (2)
____________ together. “See among you can (3) _____________ this bundle in two,” he
commanded.
