Transfer Codelist Table Into Leica Captivate Controller

1. Clean up a codelist table with unique point IDs, coordinates, and elevations and save as a CSV file. 2. Import the CSV file into a new Leica Infinity project and assign the columns to proper attributes. 3. Export the coded list from Leica Infinity as a Smartworx file and copy it to the Code folder of an SD card to transfer to a Leica Captivate controller.

Transfer Codelist Table into Leica Captivate Controller


Upon having a proper subscription license to Leica infinity, it is required to be activated and set up in the company's manager account of MyWorld.

Step Screen Menu Details Visual


1.

Clean up the codelist table, add additional


4 columns, assign each row with unique
Excel workseet
Point ID, Northing, Easing, Elevation (can

be any N, E, Z value), and save as .CSV
comma delimited file.

2.

Lecia Infinity
Create a new project in Leica Infinity.
New project

3.

Click ‘import’ in home tap, choose ASCII

format. Choose the csv file, then create

new template in 'import settings'.

In pop up window, choose ‘comma’ in


Leica Infinity
column separator. Assign each column a
new tamplete
proper attribute in preview window.

Leica infinity Click 'ok' to import the codelist in to Leica


View Screen Infinity as points with codes.

6.

In features tab choose ‘code manager’,


Leica Infinity
Click ‘Field codes’, highlight all code
Feature tab
groups on the right window, press
Code Manager
‘Ctrl+X’.

Leica Infinity Click on the project name that been


Feature tab created, left click in the right window and
Code Manager press ‘Ctrl+V’, then Click ok.

Leica Infinity Re-open ‘code manager’, highlight the


Feature tab project you created then click ’copy to
Code Manager global’

9.

Leica Infinity Click ‘export’, choose ‘Smartworx/


Feature tab Captivate Job -DBX’ and save to your
Code Manager computer.
10.

Insert an SD Card into computer, copy


and past the 3 files created into ‘Code’
SD Card Code folder. (If the SD isn’t properly formatted,
Folder you can insert the SD Card in CS20, Click
Settings- Tools -Format Memory- SD Card -
Ok)

Re-insert the SD Card into CS20, Click


Leica
Settings- tools-transfer user objects-
Captivate
object to transfer: codelist; choose the
settings-tools
file name; From SD card to Internal
menue
Memory, then Click ok.

12.

Leica
Create a new job in CS20, in codelist tab
Captivate
you’ll see the code list name you created,
Create New
click store.
Job

13.

The created job, should have the chosen


code table available to use.
