1 Trouble-Shooting
1.1 Generel
This chapter sums up and describes all messages which can appear on the operator
inferface. Some messages only appear if the corresponding optional function is
configured or if the tablet press is equipped with several press stations. Read this
section carefully prior to commissioning the tablet press.

Note:
We reserve the right of changes relating to the technical
equipment, operation or function, even if these changes may not
yet be considered in this documentation.

1.1.1 Type of Messages

The following message types are transmitted in the system:

Message Colour in the Duration of Description

type status line representation

Status Green Static Shows the status of the tablet press. (e.g. "Ready
messages background to start in Set-up")

Error Red background Static Shows the error message which occurred last
messages Last error

Error messages are shown until the cause of the fault is eliminated and the error messages (all error
messages waiting currently at the same time) are acknowledged.

Warning Orange Dynamic 30 s Shows a warning (e.g. Measuring point main

messages background pressure deselected)

These warning messages are provided with a Comes-goes warning mechanism. Thus, the warning
message remains active until the cause for the message does not exist anymore.

Info Yellow Dynamic 15 s Informs the operator about a wrong entry (e.g. entry
messages background outside the evaluation limits)

1.1.2 Message format

The messages contain the following basic information:

• Error number
Unique identification number of the respective message. The number is encoded
as follows:
- First digit: Press station
- Second digit: Program transmitting the message
- Last three digits: Consecutive number
• Date
System date when the message was transmitted
• Time
System time when the message was transmitted
• Operator name
Name of the operator who was logged in at the time of the action

The error messages contain the following additional information:

• Description of the error
Short description of the error

Potential additional information concerning the error, as e.g. punch number of the
punch that caused the error message "Overload compaction force main pressure".

Second potential additional information concerning the error, as e.g. current

compaction force main pressure".

The warning messages contain the following additional information:

• Description of the warning
Short description of the warning
• Additional info 1
Potential additional information concerning the warning, as e.g. number of the
tablets to be still produced until the production target is reached.

The information messages contain the following additional information:

Message: No release for start
Description: The drive cannot be switched on because the batch name has not been entered.
Remedy: ü Start a new batch.

Message: Tablet press at fault
Description: A fault has occured. After eliminating the cause of the fault the tablet press can be re-
started.
Measure: ü Eliminate the pending fault.

Message: Tablet press ready to start
Description: The drive can be switched on.

Message: Tablet press in start-up phase
Description: Start-up dosing was selected and the drive was switched on. The tablets produced
during the start-up dosing phase are routed into the reject channel.

Message: Tablet press in normal operation
Description: The tablet press produces good tablets during the production phase.

Description: The drive was switched off with start-up dosing selected. The tablets produced during
the after-running phase are routed into the reject channel.

Description: Manual disconnection of the running production by a user.

Description: The power supply at all digital inputs of the control is at fault.
Remedy: ü Re-establish the voltage supply. For doing this, check the supply lines and the
pre-fuses. Note: This work may be carried out by a qualified electrician only!

Message: Bridged plug missing
Description: The Bridged plug is not plugged.
Remedy: ü Check the plug.

Message: Handwheel
Description: The handwheel has been pulled out or the proximity switch is defective or not properly
adjusted.
Remedy: ü Latch the handwheel in the corresponding position.
ü Check the proximity switch and the cabling.

Message: Level lubrication 1
Description: Lubricant container of lubrication pump 1 is empty.
Remedy: ü Check the lubricant container of lubrication pump 1 and refill lubricant if required.
ü Check the level switch and replace it if required.
ü Check the connections and the cabling of the pump.

Description: An emergency stop button at the tablet press or at a peripheral device has been
pressed.
Remedy: ü Check the emergeny stop chain including the cabling.
